It seems like much the same situation as the pharmacists who wouldn't fill prescriptions for day-after pills, except with the left's support instead of the right's. And, except that the pharmacists felt they were complicit in murder to hand them out whereas it's unclear whether a call center caller's call has much of an impact on anything, and that the pharmacists put their actual jobs and careers on the line and not just a day's wages.

If they'd rather not read the script, that's fine by me. I can even respect them for standing by their principles (losing a day's wages would still hurt). But, the implication (if anyone else has inferred it) that the fact they won't even read the script reflects a moral failing on the part of the McCain campaign is, I think, ill-founded.

I applaud anyone, even pharmacists and doctors, who refuse to be complicit in something that violates their principles. No one from either 'team' (really, this left/right stuff is too cartoonish) should be forced to sell out when not doing so doesn't violate civil liberties or the 'social contract' we have as fellow Americans (and I know this is whole 'nother thread in itself).

Though I know you aren't insinuating I inferred that, I agree with you adding this distinction: I don't think them not reading the script speaks to McCain's moral failing as much as the script (and its role in his campaign) itself does. The script is one part of his gimmicky, fear-mongering, divisive campaign.

I disagree whole-heartedly. If a pharmacist doesn't want to sell the pill, that's his choice. I respect that: he has every right to practice his beliefs. However, if the pharmacy refuses to assist people who do want this medication, and do everything they can to proselytize to adults about what they should or should not do with their bodies, then I have a bit of an issue with it.

I guess Mr. McCain could learn a thing or two about real honor from these call center workers.
