Just watched the entire 4th quarter...no congratulations by Tmac, no movement from that chair whenever a play was happening. That is fair enough, avoid it next time.... DD
Its all good. Sometimes I feel like we at war with the people who bash Tracy and as of right now we're not winning.
t_mac1, it's OK for someone to bash Tracy. You don't have to defend him all the time. It's not like he was really cheering for his teammates on the bench. The truth is,IMHO, he worries too much about how other people talk/think about him. When his teammates beats the champs without him, he is actually embarrassed and therefoe appear to be uninterested. If he can forget about his "superstar status" and just play ball, he is still the best player on the team. If he continues to just worry about himself, not the team, then it's really time to let him go.
I don't think you are a bandwaggoner, I hate when people question others fandom, being a fan is an individual thing... Just stop making stuff up...to try to make a point about your favorite player. There is nothing wrong with liking a player, but not admitting what everyone else can see is more annoying than eating dirt. Why defend the indefensible? The rest of us just want to see him play hard, and with the team, as they would be better because of it. But him whining about touches, after sucking balls for weeks, feigning injury because he has a boo boo and is out of shape is naggingly annoying. DD
avoid what? getting it wrong on what someone does on the bench? yea like i really care what people do on the bench. i'm just happy we avoided a 4 game losing streak that could really lower the team's morale. this win shows this team still has a lot of fight left. like last yr, the boston game may prove to catapult this team.
I just saw the replay, and I could've sworn that was McGrady high-fiving Yao after his tip-in at the end of the game.
How can anyone even argue about this? They zoomed up on the huddle after Von hit the big shot. Artest was giddy jumping up and down, same with Scola, Rafer, and Deke. Then there's Tmac's face right in the background. Frowning. He wasn't even emotionless, he was frowning. You Tmac apologists are blind.
bashing tracy is fine, FOR HIS PLAY. i can't defend what people say about tracy regarding his play b/c personally, i think he has SUCKED this year. i still think he can regain his greatness, but he better do it quick. but like i've said many times before, when you start nitpicking at tracy's actions even when he's on the bench, you really are just looking for things to criticize.
Honestly, stop jumping all over t-mac when he's not healthy. When the guy brought u 13 points in 35 sec and came to rescue the rockets at least another million of times, It's either you were not here or you are just too stupid to remember?. A true fan doesn't bash the guy just because he's in a slump or hurt. Yeah maybe he's crying and not being professional, but do u think it would helps when you guys are bashing him like he doesn't worth a dime? You guys said he doesn't have heart. The dude was playing on 1 leg when shane was out. I guess that meant nothing to you guys. The early exit from the playoff had only showed me that he tried everything he could. Shipping him out is such non-sense coz you know u will never get anyone half equal in talent. We lost those games not only because of t-mac, but we lost as a team. Since when the game BASKETBALL became a one person's game. How many night where Yao or Artest didn't play up to your expectation but u guys were there to defend them with words such as "heart" or "spirit" where in reality those words doesn't mean much for the fact that they LOST THE GAME. T-mac is seriously hurt as u can see from the game he played. He lost his first step, his vertical and he said he is in pain whenever he runs, yet he still tried to play and got a couple decent game b4 he went into a slump again. As a tru Rockets fan you should be there and support him because of all those glory he brought for us from the past. Before you start bashing him, you should try to watch the playoff series against the dallas. Are you dare to say that he plays with no heart? 13 pts in 35 sec? NO HEART? WHAT MORE CAN U ASK FOR? He's so down right now because YOU BANDWAGON FANS keep on bashing him down to the dirt. Imagine he's a regular viewer on this forum and put yourself into his shoes. Will you be able to play good again under all these negative feedbacks? Please stop bashing the guy already. The guy's hurt and what he needs is some support from everyone. gesus chorist.
Tmac_1, you compared battier's offense to Wafer's?? how about comparing their OVERALL skills. That's what counts. Battier's defense+ 3pt shot+post up hook+baseline 10 footer > Wafer's 3 pt shot +ability to drive+ ability to finish
This is true, TMac did get up and walked out with his teamates to congratulate Yao, I have it frozen on my screen with 12.9 seconds left. So, there is hope. DD
You know, I really wish you're right, but I don't see it that way. This was a nice win, hopefully something the Rockets can build on, but the Rockets are not going to be an elite team, capable of winning a championship, without Tracy McGrady playing at a high level. Nor will they become a championship-caliber team this season for whatever spare parts the Rockets can fetch in a trade for him. The Rockets are better now than they would be with a disinterested, gimpy T-Mac. No question. But, for the sake of this team, I'm holding out hope that McGrady can return at least to his 07/08 form. There's no doubt in my mind that they'd be a better team with that player than without him.
Who cares about his play? Guys get hurt and go through slumps all the time. T-Mac's attitude sucks and that's unforgivable. Especially if it's poisoning the locker room.
They played Atlanta very tough, without both Tmac and Ron....and almost won, now they get Ron back and they beat Boston in Boston. One player makes a massive difference...ONE....Battier is an even better defender. If Tmac is going to come in and dominate the ball and not play as a good teamate.....he needs to go....period. DD
jesus christ, even in a win, where he doesn't play. you criticize his effort? lol give me a break, we get it you, you hate tmac. he's such a terrible terrible person. what was he thinking putting it all on him in the playoffs? what was he thinking scoring 13 points in nearly 30 seconds? what was he thinking riding shawn bradley like a cowboy? what was he thinking putting his all in every god damn series we ever played with or without yao, with or without any help, the nerve of this SOB, he gave us all those moments, i hate him for it...ugh die tmac. response from yo yo will read something like this: he did all of this in the past. he is a washed up sob now. he can't even cheer on the bench. what a jerk. wa wa wa... yah he did all of that in the past, and what makes you think he will stop now? now that he HAS team to win he won't try? because he wants to protect his ego? because he doesn't want people to think he can't win by himself? ridiculous. you my friend are a moron if you think this. did kg give up when he couldn't win with the twolves for so many years? no and neither will tmac. but i must digress, i must continue to say tmac will never amount to anything. because i am the curse of the rockets. it is true. trust me.
T_mac 1, i posted this earlier, but i think it was missed because of a surge in new posts, but i explain exactly why tracy needs to do perform on AND off the court: "I can't believe how many fans are missing the point yoyo tried to make with this thread. Comparing him to Tmac, seriously??? If you work with a team, let's say in a call center, and you're the lead, are you going to be help to the same standards as those that are NOT the leads? NO. NO. NO. You'll be held to HIGHER standards, as in, you'll be expected to stay longer, try harder, worry about yourself AND others. In other words, you'll be expected to earn your pay AND your given position. The people who simple answer phones (battier) are expected to contribute within their role, what they're payed for and what's expected of them. That's all a given when you apply for the job. Tracy is one of the leaders of this team. That's a given, period. He has to ACT AND PLAY like one. He's not off the job just because he's not dressed, he's still on the clock and expected to contribute in some way. Shane, who by the way CAN'T TRAVEL because of the swelling in his ankle and he's mentioned this SEVERAL TIMES, when he does sit on the bench in his rockets' blazer, he cheers, he advises, he's coaching, he's talking, he's giving his two cents. Watch Barry, he constantly talks to the younger players, expecially Brooks. He was the first guy to talk to him after he missed the shot against Atlanta at the buzzer, basically telling him to keep his head up. Always explaning and motivating him to keep going, especially after he makes a mistake. Why? Because he's the other kind of leader, not the one who's the star, that gets paid the big money and has the recognition, but the one who's been there, done that. HE knows that's what is expected of himself, to coach, to give his insight. He knows he wasn't signed just for his 3pt shot. And tracy looked out of it at the end, at one point he even looked disgusted because the Rockets had the lead, of course i don't know if he REALLY was, but how can a player, after such a slump, after all the drama, not be smiling from ear to ear after this effort and win?? I don't care what personaloty you have, it should make you feel like a kid again, like it did with Scola, deke, hayes, wafer, landry, Yao, ron, etc. Are you telling me Ymac has one personality and EVERYONE ELSE has matching personalities???"
So long as T-Mac is on the team soaking up $21 million a season, yes. If they move him and get the right pieces (not spare parts) then no. Obviously it would be better if T-Mac came back and played in the offense. But the question isn't whether T-Mac isn't just disinterested, it's whether he's poison.
is this thread absolutely necessary? i'm not 100% sure. but it feels funny and pathetic to see how mcgrady's fans grabbing every straw trying to make him look innocent. mcgrady did something bad? wooooo, how about shane battier? grow up, children.
That's because he's quit already. He's done, He's tuning out, it just doesn't matter that his team was in Boston on the Champs home floor. It didn't matter they were short handed, it didn't matter if they were winning or losing, as a matter of fact it probably irritated him that they fought so hard and won without him. He doesn't have any passion for basketball anymore, or he'd want to be on the floor agaist Boston.
