If you dislike the Sixers, this should make you happy.

I'd love to see something to back up the assertion that he "sucks at coaching". There seems to be a lot of ignorance going around about his coaching career.

His teams improved every year in Chicago. He somehow won 54 games with the Pistons in '97 - that team was not good at all. He coached the Wizards for 2 years and his best player was Michael Jordan.

Philly will hire Collins. They drafted him as a player so maybe that's a connection they like.

He hasn't done much as a head coach. I believe he coached MJ and the Bulls, but got let go before the dynasty began.
Also coached the Pistons, but they went on their championship runs after he left. Washington was a complete failure.

Well if this is true, I'm gonna miss him as a color commentator. He works well with Kevin Harlan.

I think Thibs should been hired, after the work he did for the Celtics. Thibs is the mastermind in the Celtic's defense.

This is a job he's been holding out for, or was he just desperate?

WojYahooNBA As Doug Collins accepts Sixers job tonight, here are two names league sources expect to be part of his staff: Michael Curry and Brian James.

WojYahooNBA With Collins out, no doubt TNT will make strong push at Doc Rivers to return to TV. C's coach thinking hard about leaving bench for home.

WojYahooNBA Many close to Doc believed he had all but decided to leave bench. But Rondo rise and playoff run could give him pause at season's end.

WojYahooNBA Whenever Doc leaves C's, he instantly becomes the NBA's most coveted free agent coach. Upon return, he'll name his team and salary.

Seriously. Are the owners just that stupid? Have they not realized that these guys can't get the job done.

Few coaches that would seriously force me to abandon ship if they ever became the head coach of the Rockets:

    Fratello
    Collins
    Carlesimo
    Don Nelson
    Gundy

So they should have gotten past Detroit? The lesser team actually won the championship those years?
