I see. So you don't know anyone that does it, so you don't bother to condemn it? Is it only morally wrong if they state it outwardly, or is thinking it enough? Because I guarantee you that most of the people that scream this sort of thing on the internet will only think it in their heads in a real life situation...but to me that doesn't make it any less wrong. I'm just trying to nail down your actual point here. My point is people behave like asses and judge people all the time, internet or not. I can't figure out why you seem to be confining your complaint to only the internet.
Absolutely I think it is ridiculous to do it in real life, thinking it saying it, etc. Like I said, I don't know people who are this judgmental in real life so I didn't consider it.
It's lame because most people refer to someone as a douche because of their style of clothing and they don't even know the person. They just assume they are a douche. Which to me makes them look like a douche for judging the person off their clothing without even knowing the person.
makes me think of Dave Chappelle's bit about women dressing like skanks and then being offended that people think they are skanks
But can we all agree this guy is a douchebag no matter the reason right? This guy actually put on 4 different shirts at once to have even more popped collars than his douchebagged friend who only had three popped......Why or why not is this guy not a douchebag?????
I admit to having been and having had the qualities of a douchebag and there are at least a few other Clutchfans who will admit to it too. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=150549&highlight=douchebag
<br> This is what I'm trying to get at. It has nothing to do with hating on a person's musical taste or anything else. People pass judgment all the time regardless of the medium. Similarly, you could replace the word douche with a plethora of other "insults" including, but not limited to: *******, jerk, and idiot, yet it would still be the same thing. I don't get why people make such a big deal of the word "douche".
There is a pretty big difference in dressing like a skank and being called a douche for wearing an Ed Hardy t-shirt, affliction shirt, or wearing your hat backwards.
Wtf is that? Who is Ed Hardy? My mom told me to get my uncle one of those for his birthday. Is my mom a douchebag?????? My uncle???????? All indicators do not point to automatic douchement for an Ed Hardy T-shirt. We have eliminated a variable.
You can call it whatever you want, but I still will use the term douche. If that makes me one so be it. There are people in this world who do douchey things and I wouldn't want to hang out with if given a choice. It usually consists of simple minded folk who seem to do similar things. Any type of person can be a douche. I'm not judging them, more power to them, I just don't want to hang out with them. Have I ever done douchetastic things? Probably. There are probably people out there now who could say I'm a douche. I'd like to believe the list is small, but what do I know. More importantly, what do I care? Why worry about someone calling you a douche? Just do your things and let the cards fall where they may. Sucks if it offends you, but there will always be douches and people calling them on it. I guess the easiest thing to do is retaliate with the same insult. In the end it will be like a Tarantino scene where everyone is shot with the douche gun. And yet, life goes on. Weird.
Popped collor, backward baseball cap wearing, barbed wire tat sporting people like me are claiming the term as a point of pride. WE'RE HERE! WE'RE DOUCHEBAGS! GET USED TO IT!
Its douchey to post about douches in thread like this. Though douche bashing has jumped the shark. And using the term jump the shark has jumped the shark.
