I wondered the same thing about Malick Badiane, V. Spanoulis, Lior Eliyahu, and Steve Novak. It's got to be hope for the underdog.

I think Dorsey is going to look great dunking on the other team's 10th, 11th and 12th men in garbage time this season. If you think he is going to make an impact this season you need to put down the pipe, apologize to Chuck Hayes and then realize how poorly Dorsey did in summer league against mostly non-NBA rotation players.

Dorsey may end up being a stronger Ben Wallace but he has a long, long way to go before he even cracks the regular rotation.

Dorsey certainly has the intimadating player face. However we have yet to see him play. So far we know he is strong, but some have stated that he had horrible defense in summer league. His rebounding strength seems pretty impressive though, and he might just have good spot in the future of the rockets. Still, I trust Morey and also the Rockets have a knack for gifted undersized power forwards.

What the heck would make you believe a second round player who did not show well against non-NBA and borderline NBA players is better than a guy who has proven to be one of the best defensive players in the league.

Let me guess. It's those sweet dunks you saw Dorsey do on the youtube clips.

Okay rephrase... he was trying to be funny.

And thank you Dave78 for responding to that last comment, as it saved me the trouble.

As much as Morey raved about Dorsey, I doubt he'll see much actual game time minutes. We have plenty of body's that are just plain ahead of him, that have experience and are not rookiefied. Not only do we have Yao, Scola, and Artest(when Rick decides to go small), but we still have Deke, Hayes and Landry(hopefully he's healthy and signed).

The only time I see Dorsey getting true P.T. is if we have foul trouble, garbage minutes or we just need to lay a big body on someone. Morey mentioned his defensive skills, but that was college and the NBA is a different story.

So I do hope he's a Rocket, but I'm sure the guy still has a lot to learn.

Example, see the game in the summer league were he got ejected and lost the game for them.

Again I am not getiing into if Dorsey is better than Hayes or not , be he did not do poorly in summer league , besides that stupid tech , when he was on the floor he was rebounding at a very good rate , was eneretic , finished his baskets inside and didn't try to do things he can't do.

They aren't saying he was a complete waste of summer league roster space... they were saying that his defense in summer league was poor.

In fact he even admitted that he was the reason they lost the one game. He didn't rotate on defense and he let a layup through. That was before he got kicked out of the next game and his team lost in overtime.
