I don't think he'll be "displayed", but he is going to be on the active roster so that he can be available as a trade throw-in. Because that's what he's worth to the Rox.
Dorsey was brought back to the team proper because we have a long strech of home games, meaning he can practice with the team and the coach's can get a good look at this progress, which has been fairly well received in the D-league according to word of mouth.
Even if we didn't like Bayless, we could later trade him for a mid first round pick or good role players such as Ramon Sessions.
Dorsey is a beast who has had ample opportunity thrown on him until now... if he gets traded he may get a chance to earn some play time on that team. He is valuable in practices where he'll force people to out rebound him, something we all know the Rockets need to work on.
As stated above, Dorsey has been a roster player all season. I sure hope you don't get busted to rookie for this (although I've been busted for less .)
So where's the Dorsey showcase? I haven't seen him play, yet. Does this mean he's not a throw-in for a trade?
He won't play, I don't think. My guess is he was called up to make the numbers on a trade work, i.e., Tmac + Dorsey for 1st player and 2nd player (roster balance).
Is there a rule preventing roster players from being traded if they are playing in the D-League? Can't they trade Dorsey, while he is in the D-league?
If Bosh becomes a Rocket before the trade deadline, Dorsey will fill in for Scola and 'Cook' as back up player at PF and/or C. C: Bosh/Hayes/Anderson PF: Landry/Bosh/Dorsey
They had plenty of minutes to give Dorsey for a showcase in the overtime game against the Bucks. How do the Rockets expect to showcase him on the bench?
