I was a bit underwhelmed by that. I mean, was 5'9" 170lbs when I maxed 275 as a junior in high school. 345 is definitely strong but for a man that large, especially a college athlete, I figure it's about par for the course.

Anybody agree with me, or am I alone on this?

I thought he did 19 reps of 345 on the bench. thats pretty impressive if you ask me. but 345 max bench seems a bit low for a man of his body build

He also has arms that are much longer. Theres a reason why Earl Boykins could bench so much.

Hmm i guess it is good for a basketball player. Basketball players arent really known for their lifting numbers like football players are.

Not to mention the fact that these players aren't able to carry around any extra bulk. There's a reason why all of the World's Strongest Men are a little round (but still muscular) and that Mr. Universe isn't the strongest man in the world.

Yeah, guys in my high school were benching 300+ all the time. It wasn't a big deal.

If his job was getting the best one rep max on benchpress instead of playing basketball I am sure he could do much better.

p*****s! I was throwing up 460 before i even had pubes and in the 6th grade.

Seriously, that's nothing spectacular for people who just lift weights everyday and play pick up games of sorts. But it is harder for athletes like basketball players or even boxers to build up huge numbers on the bench "naturally" because they do so much running and other cardio that really slows down the bulking process. If Dorsey we're to stop all cardio for a few months with proper training and nutrition he would probably be maxing out over 400 plus pounds no problem if he's really a natural beast as advertised.

that podcast on 610 was great. the best part was how he was happy that he made shawn pruitt throw up in his workouts against him. he said he just worked him so hard that he couldn't handle it and he had to stop and puke lol. i hope he can make a quick adjustment because he is exactly what we need for an enforcer.

he also said he had been working hard on his free throws. if he could just shoot 60% then that would be great. the one thing i noticed about dorsey v big ben is that dorsey's college FG% is consistently 60% which gives hope that he can consistently finish around the basket unlike ben wallace.

Did you guys actually play b-ball in HS or w.e? I don't understand how you could do that. I had to remain agile and stuff as a pg. And at 6' i had a pitiful 120LB bench press, but i was pretty efficient. Unless your a center like Shaq, having a large benchpress doesn't do you much good.

    Pssssh.

You "tough guys" think you're sooo strong what with your arms and such.

I use other appendages to bench 500.
