what's with all the hatred for hubie and doug collins? i think they are both fantastic, as is mike fratello. all of the former coaches have been terrific and added great insight. (we'll try to forget about the pj carlesimo experiment.)

i found burke incredibly annoying to the point where it really took alot from the game experience for me. her analysis isn't bad or anything, it's just that i would prefer the sound of nails grating on a chalkboard to her voice.

i don't know if i'm alone on this (probably am), but i just think that great announcers really add alot to the overall game viewing experience. i'm not sure that t-mac bradley dunk is immortalized if that's bill worrell exclaiming "tracy with a facey!" rather than kevin harlan's gravity leaving the building. and the same can definitely be said for jordan's switching hands in mid air - maybe the most overrated play in NBA history, one which is routinely outdone in everyday NBA games, but has been immortalized largely due to marv's now infamous call. all of the great finals clips just sound so much better with marv on the call.

the dream booth would have marv albert, jvg, and mike fratello with melissa stark and erin andrews working the sidelines, EJ/kenny/charles in the studio, and a postgame interview conducted by anyone other than john thompson.

Troglodyte (Dungeons & Dragons), a fictional race of humanoid monsters which are also featured in various online multiplayer games such as EverQuest.

Did you really just bust out a D&D reference to call out someone?

haha. man that's the nail on the head with the jordan switching hands in mid-air. for years I thought I was the only one that thought that play was just jordan showing off and the announcers making it some immortalized play.

i think he is great. no one steps out to cut off the guard outside the 3 point line better. i've seen other rockets learning the trade from him as well.

The only reason this dude's around is because they wouldn't let him off-world.

Not venting. Never heard of the two doing the game. I have now though. I guess that explains why most of the games are on ESPN, ESPN2 or ABC this week while we are on NBAtv.

Also explains why everything I read about this weekend is how great the Cavs and Lakers looked beating 8 seeds on their home courts and no mention of what we did. If you check out the major sports sites, you'd have to look for our stuff to believe we were in the playoffs. Its really getting old. Had the Blazers won, there would be lots of stories about how great Roy is.

Only place I can read about the Rockets is the Chron website. Thank God we at least have that.

    Maybe I am venting.

Agreed. I like her as a commentator. I especially found it funny when Deke was in the game and she said, "What is he doing??? Is he looking up at the scoreboard for a hi-lite of himself??? You're in PORTLAND, Deke!." :D
