DMo has a slight mechanical problem on his shot. He doesn't generate lift. That's why his shot is flat and clanks off hard. He needs a small dip as coach Nick says. If he simply added the small dip, his 3-pt percentage would probably rip right into the high-30's.
Dmo may shoot a flat shot every now and then, but for the most part his shot isn't flat at all, and he has pretty good form. In think what would help his three point shooting the most, would be if he concentrated on coming down in the same place he took off from, instead of jumping back or forward to much on his shot.
You can tell during summer league he had a better lift when he shot 3's. He bent more at the knees and im pretty sure he shot at a pretty solid %.
DMO will be a hell of a player in Europe in a few years. I could see him leading a high level team to a championship over there.
I would like to know who the people are that come up with these idiot nicknames, and the ones who follow. Donuts for real? Followed the Rockets for a long time and have NEVER heard anyone call him this! Its really simple, just 3 letters D-MO! I hope someone calls him this and he slaps the crap out of them, I would.
Thanks. His shot is definitely getting more lift. The arc is much better....certainly better than Parsons line drive (and he was a 37% shooter last year). If DMo learns how to stay out of foul trouble and can hit 3s in the mid 30s, we have our long term answer at the 4.
After some break, next game is on in half a hour THERE, Donuts against Papanikolaou. Not sure Kostas will play tho, but keep eye on both Rockets players if he does.
Good first half by DMo 12pts (1/2 in 3s, 5/5 in FT) 4reb, his shot looks improved with more arc... Kostas is struggling, especially on offense, 0pts 3 reb and 3 fouls.
Kostas also had a really bad turnover where he just didn't dribble the ball properly and lost it. He's not making me excited.
Kostas nailed a trey and seems to prefer working into the flow of the offense rather than initiating it. He does have a decent ability to pass
