I wrote off the Rockets long ago. Like back in November.

we are crazy for refusing to believe a 41-41 team with no heart, and chemistry can beat a 73-9 historical team? What do you think this is? the 95 Rockets team? This team is a bunch of misfits and lazy players who enjoy only playing one side and padding their stats.

Guys, I'm sorry but that Clippers game 6 has really made everyone a little crazy around here.

A few minutes of miracle doesn't outweigh the 82 games that I just watched, for me at least.

Maybe Playoff Corey Brewer makes an appearance with Playoff Dwight.

These are not last year Rockets, and the team we are facing is not last year's Clippers.

Agree. Love the OP's attitude, but you can't just compare pieces from last year's (really good) Rockets team to the pieces of this year's (enigmatically bad) Rockets team.

When 8's shock 1's, they are usually incredibly scrappy (a la the famous Denver Nuggets team with Dikembe in his prime). And when the Baron Davis warriors presented match-up hell to a poorly coached Dallas team.

Neither of the one seeds in those cases were historically significant either. In the end, I just agree with those who answer "why so negative?" with, "we watched the damn games."

It's just... let's cheer for our team but not delude ourselves. I just hope they show some heart for every quarter of every game, and I'd be really happy with that. It would be the first time they've done that for four straight games, complete games, this year.

I'm sorry to say it but this team might be able to steal one game in a best case scenario. They just don't have it this year, and there has apparently been no hunger to be anything more than average all season long. I see no reason whatsoever to believe that it is going to change now. Having said that, they are talented enough to win one game if they play with some intensity, heart, and effort. That's a very big "if" with this bunch...

The rockets are playing to attract a new coach Thibs or Brooks and FA....that's it!
Just don't get killed by 50 points every game and I'll be grateful when it is mercifully over

Good luck boys.....u gonna need it

2006-07, Warriors beat the top seed Dallas in the first round playoffs.

    It's Karma time. ;)

If Harden matches Curry's output, then we might have a chance.

Insert pic of Jim Carrey in "Dumb and Dumber" here where he is thinking he has a chance with the Lauren Holly character in the film (not real life because he did land her).

Nice post, and even though there's some truth in all of that... it's only true IF the rockets players make it true. And they sure haven't shown the ability to play together as a well functioning unit this whole season, so it's hard to imagine them achieving that level in just a few days.

As much as most of us in Houston would love to see them come out strong, and go toe-to-toe with the Warriors... it's just not likely. You have a GS team that has been playing the best basketball as a team, consistently dominating the league for two years, and this Rockets team that has been so dysfunctional, in so many ways, that they barely tripped into the playoffs.

I'm not saying the Rockets can't do it... I'm just pointing out that they haven't shown that they have what it takes "as a TEAM", in order to take out the Warriors.

But as an old Rockets fan... I'm hoping you're right!

    Nah, i'm sticking with that.

I think every 8th seed has a bigger chance than perceived. There have certainly been scares here and there. All it takes is a team getting hot and creating that doubt in that other team.

It's pretty much what happened during the Clippers series. Clips dominated the Rockets up until that very game, then those few minutes of getting hot turned the series around for them.

Warriors aren't the Clippers, but they are still human too. Rockets have to come in there looking to bully and dominate.

We'll need more than harden matching Curry's output. Klay Thompson will go for 30. Barnes will drop 20, Shaun Livingston will hit 10 consecutive fadeaway jumpers.

Warriors are good because they have multiple dependable weapons. Rockets have one dependable weapon.
