    Grady has pride?!?

Did Morey acquire it for him in the past few days? Because it was never there before.

If T-Mac plays great, it'll just piss me off even more. It will prove that he's been loafing around. He should always play great, he's our highest paid player.

    erm, what nWo34Life said.

there will always be the dadakotas, antisonics and tinmans no matter what he does. so whats the point in earning back some good will from the fans? he could care less about that stuff. t-mac is done....as a fan favorite (if he ever was one).

    Deja Vu?

I honestly could care less if McGrady comes back and has "a" great game. All it does is prove beyond all shadow of a doubt that he's been dogging it on purpose.

At this point, I'd rather the team man up and send him home to Florida for 3 weeks.

This is what I was talking about. Winning more games never means to be in a lose situation.

Um... people wouldn't hate him at all if he brought it consistently and did_what_it_takes_to_win.

Do you notice a pattern? He draws all that ire every year because he's been a bum. Everywhere he's gone. Every single time he's had a chance to finish off a team in the playoffs or redeem himself.

As for "being right," lol @ that one. You honestly think we like seeing the Rockets get rolled every year?

That certainly wouldn't hurt things, but I believe he is just mentally and physically weak. He seems to have a really low threshhold for pain, and now that Ron is here showing him up isn't helping his weak mental state.

I am not sure if he will pull out of this. It is certainly at the lowest point in his career.

I thought in the least he would skip the Toronto game and play against Hawks. And if he plays tonight and skips Boston I don't think I could stand for it.

I only ask that he competes HARD for at least 5 straight games. I think people would be more forgiving if we actually saw him go all out. But he quit.

It seems like there is atleast 1 post from a fan predicting Grady will go off in the next game, and they have been proven wrong 100% , I thought it was going to be vs the Cavs ( a meaningful game). Grady doesn't give a damn about the media or national recognition. He gave up on his hometown team, and admitted it to the nation. Houston will be the 3rd team he has quitted on.

How many times do we have to "not underestimate" him?

I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall, one day believing I will crumble it.

T-Mac is the Rockets best player. But he doesn't want to lead, and he is unreliable from a physical standpoint. So, what's the point of keeping him?

Do you not get how rare it is for a star player to piss all over a franchise like McGrady has done? We're staring down the act that Vince Carter pulled to get himself out of Canada.

It's despicable what he's doing, and it's amazing that we're still seeing posts trying to spin this back on "McGrady haters."

I own a McGrady jersey, and I was happy to wear it until I was in the building watching him dog this past April. Then he did it again. And again. And again. He put on a good show for the playoffs when all eyes were on him, but now look at the mess he crapped onto the court.

McGrady has betrayed the trust of his fans, his teammates, his coach, and his employers. I'm all for it if he wants to make amends. I'll somewhat play along if he takes a week off and is miraculously himself again upon returning or even if he just plays well for 20 minutes a game. I'll take 15 ppg. I'll take jogging up and down the court. But not the crap he pulled in Cleveland. Not the crap he pulled in Toronto. Not the "I need more shots" BS.

    It's on him.

TRADE! We dont need players that are doing us a favor to go on the court.

Mcgrady is all acting like a superstar like he did something the last several years. He did nothing.

Yao cant bring us a championship either and by the age of 26-27 its easy to say it.

Trade them both and rebuild the team, there is no future with these.

He just needs to work hard every game he plays in. It won't happen overnight, but he and the team can make this a distant memory after the all star break if he keeps at it.

The rest of the team will need to do the same. Winning solves everything.

Why do people assume that McGrady wants to stay in Houston? Would he be slacking this badly if he didn't want to force a trade?

    A funk?

A guy refusing to play hard is a funk?

A guy quitting on his team is a funk?

    Yeah right !

It could be a combination of things, not just his knee. To him making the playoffs without Yao last season then additionally adding him and Artest to the mix the next season it could be about his pride as a player believing that Yao in the mix last year be enough. To him he just wants to get past his jersey number first just to make it look as if he could before adding a 3rd weapon. That did not happen and it hurts his pride and lost interest in the game. The Artest move was a bold move in regards it hurts his pride as a player to advance and this could be a minor issue entering this season, but it adds to a number of small issue besides his knee and pride and also not getting enough shots. The way it would look in his career though nobody will remember him getting past the 1st round with or without Artest anyways. If that was on his mind he needs to bury that and just play ball.

I honestly don't know. It's possible, but I'm not ready to make that assumption yet. Make no mistake, I hate what I've seen out of him as much as anyone else.

The best scenario is he plays hard, returns to form, and the team gels again. Anything less, and both parties are worse for it. Tmac's career goes in the tank and the Rockets are out of championship contention for the next 2 years. I do not believe trading Tmac will get us any closer to a trophy. I hope I'm wrong.
