Cassell is what we need. OH HOW WE NEED HIM!!! He is clutch, an bet of all...a leader...he turned Garnett from a superstar into an MVP...he led the clippers to the playoffs...he will not let TMac half ass...he will force Yao to dominate...he is old but we need him to be the vocal front man of our org. I am all for trading for SAM I AM... get it done Morey...that is our savior, -Viet Doan
With the exception of the first few games I say to you .......... WHAT SYSTEM? The Rockets seem to be playing unorganised basketball without goals and without a system! This team is not going to be turned into Sacramento 2008. The sooner Adelman realises this the sooner he can sort the mess out
I'm for playing Scola more significant minutes. He showed what he's willing to do when he's on the court. Using him more should bring our energy up.
Does Bob Sura has anything left at all? I really think his presence along can give the other guys some fire.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...10~10~17~10~17~23~23~23~22~17~23~23&te=&cash= HOU gets: Elton Brand (injured), Shaun Livingston (injured), Corey Maggette LAC gets: TMac (pu$$y), Mike James (ballhog), Landry (PF insurance), Snyder (filler) LAC gets the most talented/best player (TMac) and they don't have to worry about Livingston and Brand making injury comebacks. They get Mike James to take over the starting PG spot, Landry to be groomed as the back-up PF/C, and Snyder as a serviceable bench player. HOU gets their cornerstone PF and their PG of the future, not to mention a wingman (Maggette) wil balls. We'd have to worry about getting Brand to agree to an extension, though. On second thought, we'd probably have to give up Battier instead of/in addition to Mike James. I dunno who I'd want LAC to add in that scenario. We, the Rockets, need to think about the TMac situation like we're in the stockmarket. When all indications are that he's on a descent and is possibly spiraling down, you don't hang on with false hope. You get out while you still can, while the stock still has value.
I know this may be more than a tweak, but damn how good would Artest look next to Yao and TMac? I know, I know, DUH!!! But, forget everything he does defensively, he would be a perfect compliment on offense. He can hit the spot up jumper when given, but more importantly, when TMac is not hitting his myriad of fadeaways and the defense is making it hard to get the ball to Yao, Artest can bulldog his way to the paint for buckets and/or fouls. All of a sudden, the defense opens up for the other two big time. I would give up Battier (who I love) plus a young player and a pick for him. Artest can then move his daughter down here with him to treat her cancer.
Considering T-Mac is playing at his best since joining the Rockets, and is looking his most fit since 04-05, I'd say he isn't on the descent. And a T-mac on the descent is still at the very least a top 15 player.
I don't get why people keep questioning this. Last year when JVG wanted him to be primary playmaker and be a 2nd scorer to Yao, he did it with a smile on his face. When he had to be 30PPG T-Mac wth Yao out, he did it with a smile on his face. When he had to do both in the playoffs, he did his very best and the effort was clear. When he didn't succeed, he was brought to tears in the press conference. The guy has been very solid this year, increasing his shooting %'s (outside of FT shooting) and carrying an unnecessary load on his back because the role players continue to dissapoint, as well as Adelman's coaching. People need to stop complaining about T-Mac's heart, because right now T-Mac and his clutch ability and heart are the last things this team needs to worry about. lack of production at the PG/PF spots, no spark off the bench, no consistent 3rd scorer, inconsistent playcalling/lack of playcalling from Adelman, lack of chemistry, and an extremely tough opening schedule are far more worrisome than either of our 2 superstars, who are doing their thing and being the top 10-20 players that they are supposed to be.
Tmac has been dogging it on defense and is not running the offense as it is set up. He has been running last year's offense and it is hurting the transition. DD
reports are that his knees have been bothering him for 2 weeks now.at the start of the season he looked explosive.the knee would explain everything
Adelman has been calling last year's offense, something he said he would do if the new offense would take awhile to get used to. If you watched the first 2 games of the season, T-Mac FLOURISHES when he is in iso situations or is coming off ball. He LOVES the new offense...it makes him as dangerous as ever, hence he has already had as many 40pt games this year as last year and only 2 away from his Rockets career high for a season. He struggles with pick and roll after pick and roll and when he has to take up the ball like last year, but with no Alston and with the teammates sucking when he was doing so much scoring earlier in the year, he has been forced to run last year's offense on Adelman's command. If he was doing what he is doing for the hell of it, there would be a lot more backlash in the newspapers and such.
Tmac for Hinrich, Gordon, and Joe Smith. Hinrich is close to getting benched for Duhon and Gordon refused an extension. Chi gets Big Ben Tyrus Deng Tmac Duhon We get rid of Tmac, and his contract. Rebuild. Yao Scola Battier (trade bait) Gordon Hinrich Hinrich and Gordon complement Yao perfectly. Tmac doesn't. With those two, we have our threats. We have the perfect passer and kick out triple threat.
Andre Miller would be ideal because unlike Rafer he knows his limits within the offense. Andre Miller and Corey Maggette is the two pieces that would help i think. Maggette is a slasher who can lead a break and finish around the rim, just replace Battier. I think Miller is shooting like 49%.
If you was to blow the team up. I think Gasol and Mike Miller would be better than Gordon and Hinrich. Get a shooter with size and another low-post player who BTW can also play the high-post and beat his man off the dribble. Then aquire Andre Miller and Kyle Korver from Philly Then aquire Corey Maggette from L.A land. Yao/Scola/Mutombo Gasol/Landry Maggette/Korver/Novak M.Miller/Navarro A.Miller/Alston/Brooks there you have it, the ultimate fix. The starting 5 all average over 15 points a piece.
Ok some good ideas but, the $64,000 question. How the Hell are you gonna pull it off? Else ... shelve this to "Planet Fantasyland" forum.
