Jeez... Someone with a brain finally posted a reasonable observation. I won't even lament about any foul that may have occurred or Mo possibly stepping out of bounds. (I thought Mo stayed in bounds.) I'll say this until I'm blue in the face... Lin did nothing wrong on that play. He was victimized by an extraordinary play by Mo Williams. I think it's sad that nobody has even appreciated how brilliant that play by Mo Williams really was. (Forget the trash talking incident w Mo after the game. Totally removed from that play.) Maybe THE best play I've seen this season.
I like what you said, it is just a mistake, clear and simple, just like KD missed one free shoot caused the lose last night. Everybody makes mistakes, just let's it go.
Prove it. In my first message I gave heavy evidence that our biggest positive swings in this series came when Lin was on the floor. The implication is that without Lin the Rockets would have crashed hard. Can you counter that? For your convenience, here is that first message of mine:
Lin's biggest problem is he has 1 speed. He needs to learn 2+. That's how Wall got significantly better. That's why Dragic's better. And that's why Chris Paul is epic.
Aside from the fact that it seems that he was told to call a timeout if a clear break wasn't available. And it wasn't. I was all for chalking this up to a mistake by Lin. He himself owned it. Didn't he admit he should have called a time out? Why is it so important to some of you to prove he in no way did anything wrong? He made a mistake. It's over. Suck it up and play better next time. Everyone on this team not named Howard has played poorly at some time this series. Rockets fans are admitting as such. But again, we can't criticize Lin, even though he's in agreement that he made a mistake. I'm sorry. I don't like to contribute to some of this crazyness but I've read one thread too many where some people treat player X like he's never made a mistake in his life. Cheer on.
Overreaction from the Lin supporters is not wonderful; but neither is the overreaction on the part of Lin detractors to any mistakes he makes. I would not say that Rockets fans are admitting that Lin makes mistakes, but so does Harden, Bev, Parsons, etc.
Exactly. Some of the hate that flew after that game was way, WAY out of line. But that doesn't make it right to take the extreme opposite approach. That's a double edged sword. And I think we've seen plenty of threads about other players mistakes. Heck I even saw some people criticizing Howard, of all things, and he's been a beast. I just want a win tonight! Damn the torpedoes!
Once you get over all the LOF and LOH in the GARM now, you just find it hilarious. LOL threads like these are gold, i slightly rooting for another Jeremy Lin error in the closing seconds, just to have more threads like these lol. The hate and love, love and hate, in these threads/posts would be scary if they werent so funny. Fight on PEEPS! Entertain the masses!
McHale needs every possible occasion to destroy Lin's confidence, that's why he was benched in OT despite historical evidence that he was the best OT player in this series. One game lost to make a case is totally worth it for McHale.
McHale is fighting to keep his job right now. Why would he purposely try to find situations to destroy one of his key ball-handler's confidence? You are either a nutcase, or McHale hates being a coach/keeping a job.
Because he is stupid, he was probably very mad about Lin, so he let his emotion to ruin his decision despite Lin was the most productive Rockets player in all previous three OTs against Blazers including the one in regular season last month.
There's five players on the court. I could easily attribute any scoring run to any of the other four players. Why focus on Lin other than to confirm a bias? What about last year's series which was also a big part of my post that you responded to? He was probably also on the court during Portland's scoring runs. Look at the big picture instead of cherry picking.
