    Great review Rasselas.

The pacing was a problem for me, as well as the romance. It still had some great moments though. I thought they glossed over the importance of the towel. The characters just carried them around for the whole movie, without any real explanation of what you can use them for. I also didn't like the way Zaphod's 2nd head was presented. Seemed too slapstick for Douglas Adams.

Overall, I enjoyed it. It's a niche film, so I doubt it does very well at the box office.

What's missing from the Guide? "Mostly Harmless?"

Yeah it was ok, I was sitting there most of the time like WTF, and the hitchhiker definitions were a little too much for me to process all at the same time.

Zooey Deschanel is mad hot though.

I always liked Life, the Universe, and Everything better, but I thought the movie was great. I read all the books back to back in omnibus form, so I have a little trouble remembering what happens in which book, so I can't say how faithful it was. The casting was fantastic. Mos Def and Sam Rockwell stole the show (not unusual for Rockwell). I will definitely get this on DVD.

    How about that song?

So long and thanks for all the fish :) .

    I loved it.

Overall I think that the movie is a success. They tweaked some of the plots from the book (e.g., the romance between Arthur and Trillian), but the spirit of the book shines through. To me that's the most important thing.

Doug Adams would be pleased if he could see this.

I think overall it was good. I like the nod to the BBC series, which is still my favorite adaptation. In the beginning they use the music from that series which was nice. Then later they show 'Marvin' robot from that BBC series. I thought that was icing on the cake.

Mos Def did a terrific job as Ford, and everyone else was well suited to their parts. Xaphod was slightly different than I pictured him, but it worked extremely well.
