http://www.nesn.com/2010/07/harvard-star-jeremy-lin-takes-john-wall-to-school-in-summer-league.html That link has a YouTube vid of him vs. Wall. Chris Webber really likes him - may be yellow fever. I think only fools would say Lin's not worthy of a invite. I doubt he would choose the Rockets though. Lakers would seem to be the more obvious choice - given the fact that they are champs and have a more tenuous pg situation.
Jeremy Lin had a Nice up and under layup going past #1 pick John wall! i heard about him but never seen his highlights until that one...i was impressed, guy has skills but dunno if he has the athleticism to play in the NBA. he is pretty good, he's a lot better than the point guards in the chinese national team lol thats for sure
I wish I was a baller like Jeremy Lin. I'm chinese american. Hopefully, we'll see more up and coming asian-american players.
Basically we just judge J Lin from his game vs WALL, but do u think of putting LOwry into the game and he would be able to shut down WALL??
well...yes..wall is pretty raw. still, apparently that dude has these things that are vital to basketball success: 1. Defense 2. IQ (Harvard graduate...lol...) 3. Efficient Shot selections (he only does layups?) weren't we looking for a 3rd pg?
I think Lowry would give Wall trouble too, same with Brooks.....the book on Wall will be to back off of him and force him to beat you over the top, turn him away from a PG and more into a scorer. At least until he can actually shoot the ball real well.... He will get some good stats, but most of those will be in a transition environment against crap teams...when he has to play good teams that will slow the game down, I predict he will struggle. DD
I like Jeremy Lin. I hope we offer him an invite to training camp. He'd be a great combo-guard. I'd like to see him competing with Taylor for a final roster spot.
Jeremy Lin has been snubbed on every level of his basketball career mostly because he's a skinny Asian kid. (I know it is a fact that a lot of high school coaches would pick a non-skilled black kid over a skilled Asian kid everyday.) It's a deep rooted stereotype in American basketball culture. See how long it took for mainstream media to acknowledge Yao's skills outside of the Rockets circle. I think Lin is NBA material and hope he makes it. That said. He is no Lowry, at least not yet. And Lowry is not overpaid.
J Lin looked good in the highlights. I think he's got some NBA potential. Nash said athleticism is not all about explosiveness. Thanks to his soccer background, he knows dictating the change of speed and start stop are a big part of actual game speed. I think Lin will make a NBA team, but to drop a Lowry for an inknown commodity right now is not smart.
High standards for a skip 2 my lou fan who bricks both 3 pointers AND drives to the lane the majority of the time.
Has anyone heard a comment from Lowry since the Rockets matched the Cavs contract offer? I have not seen any response at all, which is odd.
I hope he is happy, I mean I hope he was not trying to leave so he could get a starting gig. Let's just hope that he is in the Bahamas celebrating. DD
http://twitter.com/Klow7/status/18545058484 http://twitter.com/Klow7/status/18648654929 Sounds like he no longer hates Morey for his lies.
When you got game & a chance to show the world, people will notice you. And Lin is noticeably taller than Nash although both JL and SN are listed as 6'3, but Nash is more like 6'2 and Lin 6'4. Which may push him to the 2 if there's a need for it. Combo guard FTW!
Lin is a good gamble for any team, all Morey has to do is sign him to a minimum rookie contract, if he's not good, we can always either cut him or send him down to the RGV Vipers. Les won't care much about that pocket change in exchange for the sweet possibility of locking up the younger & Asian Steve Nash.
