    lol

We are still trying to compare two different players that play two different positions. I want our big man to get the rebound as that is what they should be able to do. Dmo is barely adequate at that.

Imagine if the Bosh trade went through. We probably would have traded Dmo to only become the next Lowry or Dragic. Patience is sometimes a good thing.

Maybe the last year the gap wasn't that big (stats indicate that too), but this year DMo is playing a shut-down defense on his competition. His defensive stats are on par with Noah/Duncan/Davis.

I have an uneasy feeling about this team. The problem I have is that I don't see Dwight and Smith taking us to a championship. I view both Dwight and Smith as boneheads that can't shoot free throws.

Don't get me wrong. I am cheering for Dwight and Smith to do well, and I want them to play well. But, I just don't have much faith in them to help us get through multiple playoff series against tough opponents.

However, I am very high on both DMo and TJones. I view DMo as a center, and TJones as a power forward. I will be disappointed to see either of these guys get traded in order for Morey to go all in on a team featuring Dwight and Smith.

We've already seen what this team can do without Dwight earlier this season. The offense looked great. Even the Defense looked good. And we were without other key players like Beverley.

What if we could trade Dwight? It may be difficult, and we may not get much in return. But, I would be really excited to move forward with our own young talent and say goodbye to Dwight and Smith.

And please don't forget that we have something very interesting going on in the Rio Grand Valley. Clint Capela is very raw. But I think he could possibly be a backup center in the NBA as early as next season. I've been watching the Viper games, and this guy can do some amazing things. I think By next season Capela could maybe play 12-15 minutes a night as DMo's backup.

Yes, I know people are ready to go all in this season by trading our young talent, and bringing in Dragic. But, I don't think it would be enough. I just don't think Dwight and Josh Smith are winners.

Enough with the eye test already. Let us look at the real numbers here. D. Mo this year at 24 compared to T. Jones last year at 22.

T-JONES OPP FG% DIFFERENTIALS LAST SEASON

    Overall: -0.4%
    3 Pointers: -3.6%
    2 Pointers: -0.1%
    Less than 6ft: -2.4%
    Less than 10ft: -0.3%
    Greater than -2.9%

Basically, TJ was a plus defender (marginally) on the perimeter last season, and a non-factor in the paint.

D-MO OPP FG% DIFFERENTIALS THIS SEASON

    Overall: -5.8%
    3 Pointers: -6.3%
    2 Pointers: -5.1%
    Less than 6ft: -9.6%
    Less than 10ft: -6.3%
    Greater than 15ft: -6.7%

DMo is a great perimeter/PnR defender this season as well as an ELITE defender in the paint. Those are Noah/Davis/Duncan type of numbers.

TOP10 rim protectors in the entire league who averaged at least 20mpg and defended at least 5 FG attempts at the rim per game:

I think we can keep T-Jones and DMo...

Josh Smith was a TWill type gamble that has the look of a failure. Not really a big deal. He will either come around and be good for the Rockets or continue to play like he did against the Knicks and be gone. If he creates ANY kind of locker room problems he should be gone regardless.

I personally like that we take these gambles and that we have a desirable enough team that these guys want to try it out here.

If we're getting Dragic, we're going to have to bid adieu to Motiejunas. Shoulda voted Jones

    lol

Now separate it to when Howard is in and then Howard is sitting. Dmo is not and never will be a DPOY. Playing with a DPOY makes a huge difference and I seen the stats on when Howard is in and playing and then sitting and the defensive stats when Howard sits are a huge difference. So who is it that is playing when Howard sits?

LOL most of these DMo stats are accumulated when Howard was injured. Since Dwight came back DMo's defensive stats actually took a little tumble.

It's not arguable that DMo was anchoring the best defense in the entire league when Dwight was out.

    lol

Still didn't answer the question I see. The stats in another thread show Howard is playing at a DPOY when he is in. With Howard playing it is shut down time and when he sits we are screwed. Now again who is playing when Howard is sitting?

Forgot to answer your question. Dmo was not anchoring the defense during Howards time out. It was Black and Black was if I remember right about 4 inches shorter than Dmo. Shame that Black didn't get the love he deserved while here.

I don't think you watched the series. I seriously don't think you did. Jones took it to a whole other level...

LOL where are you getting this stuff from?...

This is Tarik's defensive stats. They are absolutely atrocious, making Kevin Love look like a DPOY.
