look at the game tonite. inside presence on D is nice...but a very relative thing when your offense can outscore your opponent regardless. Its like the Portland teams of the early 90's. Not known for agressive D: can you even remember who their center was? But they'd run you out of the building. Only thing that stopped them was a Jordan.
heh... Exactly. Houston has been so used to half-court 'culture' over the last 2 decades, that i think some of these folks dont believe ANYTHING else can work. It can, and it has. a bunch of times.
Adjusted +/- for Yao looks to be accurate representation of his impact. It says that Yao has much more of an impact on the defensive end than the offensive end. Counter-intuitive, if one goes by the box score stats, but that's what the scoreboard has indicated the last number of seasons.
Kareem is the model Yao should have been following all along. when Yao comes back he is going to make this bunch a juggernaut.
Don't let the Showtime Lakers fool you. They were dominant on the fast break, as well as in the half court. They just had superior talent. There's a reason why the majority of the championship teams in the past 2 decades were half court teams.
That's because you are seeing a Utah team who also does not have a legit 7ft center, when we face the lakers, I think you will understand why we need yao
Yes... if that happens, then you get that privilege. How about when they're 15-15? Do I get to tell you "I told you so?"
Come on, the showtime lakers run a lot but they played quality defense as well. Plus how many all stars were there in the showtime lakers' era?
how many stars can you name from those championship contender Trailblazer squads. Ill give you the first one: Clyde. Now, name the rest of their 'legendary' squad...
because so many are saying we'll be worse. new offense, 2 starters our on IR, 1 starter traded...in the toughest division in the NBA...50/50 wouldnt be horrible. Though I think we are better...and will be.
