Does anyone ever listen to Morey talk about things?

He said they added character to something they look for....

JR does not fit.....and is not that great of a player.....

He shoots a lot, and doesn't play defense.

At least MadMax played stellar D.

Yep, we need to remember J.R. Smith.

Hey, remember that time J.R. Smith killed a dude?

    I don't want him.

But what happens if Denver only offers Melo with Smith included?

Don't know, we have made a lot out of a rumor this time.

At least with Bosh it was official for the list of teams he had even though he only really seriously considered playing with wherever Lebron and Wade went.

That would depend, but there is no way he suites up ever for the Rockets...

They would never take him...I am 100% certain about that.

We need some defense if we get Melo. And Smith is horrible defensively.

    Brooks-Martin-Melo

    Just awful defensively.

Yao is going to help just because he is parked down low but still...

Do people even read what is posted anymore?? Lately there's been alot of threads where assumptions are made that don't even fit what the article is saying.

Nothing here indicates or hints that smith would be involved in a package dela with Melo. they talk about possibly packaging him with another player, but if it was Melo they had in mind, then they would have obviously mentioned it, as a segue to the Melo part of the article.

    There's really nothing new here.

No to what? JR Smith? You must not be a great evaluator of talent, the guy would help us instantly

    JR Smith>Budinger & Taylor combined

    Nope, Chase > JR Smith.

What can JR Smith do that Chase can't? That's what I want to know, what made you easily come that conclusion?

I am not OK with Melo, per se, but if that is what the org wants, then I am a Rox fan...and if they get Melo, you almost have to trade CBud, he would never play, as Melo plays 36+ minutes at SF a night.

And Chase is better than JR....

JR is a better creator and ball handler easily. He's stronger, faster, and more athletic than Budinger ever will be. Bud's a spot up shooter with average ball handling skills. No comparison...Lay off the drugs :(

Our willingness to take Smith maybe what gets this done.

Also he's a FA after this season. He causes trouble kick him to the curb.

I don't see it, actually I agree JR is a better ball handler...but creator? Hell no, to be a creator you have to have Bball IQ and actually be willing to pass the ball...two things JR does not have that Chase has in spades.

Also Chase is more athletic than JR, I guess you can argue that JR is a better jumper...I guess...I will only admit to that because of the dunk contest. At least though Chase has more stamina (evidence by his willingness to run all over the floor off the ball and JR's willingness to...stand there and call for the ball) and we all know Chase has major hops it just takes people longer to realize this and we all know why.

Also Bud is not just a spot up shooter, he slashes to the lane and is a good finisher as well. He's not just some one dimensional knock down shooter.

I'd take Chase over JR any day of the week.

    Damn...

Chase has not had 1 game in his career that would be in JR's top 50 games...

Yet Chase is the better player. Hmmm...

I bet a Nuggets message board might see this a bit differently, and rightfully so...

Again, we know you love the Rockets (We all do). But that's just plain idiotic to say lmao. Chase is a good guy, I like him and want him to stay. But JR Smith is virtually better at everything other than spot up shooting (unless he's hot). Theres no way the two are even comparable at this point

If JR Smith can keep his mouth shut, and play like he did last year I would be happy with him.

I'm not sure though, I think he is a cancerous type player. I'd take him if that was the condition to get Melo, but if we can trade for Melo without Smith that would be better imo.
