I hope he flew to college station and wasn't riding in a car all day....but either way, this probably means he missed practice today.

Geez, we get the guy to Houston and he is still missing valuble practice time to fulfill chineese obligations!

"............The audience at Jiang's speech in College Station, 144 km northwest of Houston, included 7 foot 5 inch Chinese basketball star Yao Ming, who joined the Houston Rockets on Sunday after the National Basketball Association team made him the top pick in this year's draft.

Jiang asked Yao to stand up and joked, "You're much taller than I ... you're even taller than (former) President Bush." .............."

    Poor Ming!

    whole story:

Are you saying if President Bush invite you to White House and you will decline because you don't want to miss your class?

You bet. I WANT to be famous (infamous). I m sure I 'll be remembered for eternity if I rejected the President's invitation.

    Chill :D

The team is in the middle of back-to-back (albeit preseason) games. There was no practice this morning. The most Rudy would schedule is a brief walkthrough of the Sixers, and that likely wouldn't be until the late afternoon/early evening.

    funny.

You know I feel sort of sorry for the guy. Even movie stars can sneak out for a pizza or should I say Kung Pao chicken and not be recognized. There is no hiding for poor Yao Ming.

Well, that's not a good example to follow, if you ask me. You may not like the President, but at least you should show some respect. He is your Head of State, after all.

Ming has made his first FT, first FG, first Board (O and D), first foul, first block.

I am looking forward his first assist, first jump ball and first 3-point tonight. What's else? and first dunk.
