To those who think sage is better than schaub, you are wrong.

He almost had 5 interception. He was not that good today.

I agree. He threw a ton of sketchy passes and missed a number of wide open receivers when he wasn't even being pressured. He very easily could have had 5 INT instead of just 2. He made it an acceptable performance by keeping his head together and helping us on that final drive.

AJ is player of the game, despite the fumble. He made a spectacular catch on a bad throw to keep us alive. You can't just look at Schaub's passing yards and say he had a good game. He was mediocre, at best.

Andre Johnson, Mario Williams, Jacoby Jones and Kris Brown all had good games.

This game was better than the Pittsburgh game, but nowhere near as good as the Jacksonville game.

To be fair, he easily could have had another TD pass or two.

Still think Schaub gives us a better chance to win, mainly from a game managing standpoint. Sage>Schaub in accuracy(not by much) but Schaub>Sage in game management and presence(not by a whole lot either).

based on the sole fact that he slid instead of attempting the worlds dumbest helicopter impersonation, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt...that and a game winning drive with less than 2 minutes. 2 things Sage couldn't do last week.

Exactly. People are ripping Schuab but he did things Sage couldn't do and that is finishing the game. When it came down to the final minutes, Matt delivered.

Oh please - Sage led a mighty comeback last season. He didn't get to even practice with the first team all week, and didn't know he was starting until an hour before the game. The last four minutes aside, he played a hell of a game. What happened to him was vs. the Colts was a fluke, at best.

I'm not really sure which one would be the more effective starter, but I certainly don't think it's clear cut at this point.

If by fluke you mean completely choke away a game in the worst way possible, then yeah, I agree.

Schaub gives you more in the passing game for certain, but his interceptions are becoming a major concern. 5 (passing) TDs, 7 INT. And he's throwing some alarmingly bad balls with no cause/pressure.

Up until the end of last week's game (including last year), Sage's biggest pro has been his ability to protect the ball (1 Fumble, 12 int in 9 2007 games).

Point being - the choice we're seeing is a QB that can give us more but is more likely to get sloppy, or 80% of that QB with less frequent turnovers.

All I know is, we're not going to win that many games on the wrong side of a 4:1 takeaway ratio.

Joey Porter almost had 6 sacks.

Andre Davis almost scored a TD.

    Mario almost had 4 sacks.

Amobi and Bulman almost had a sack each.

AJ and Wilson could have held on to the ball and the score would have been lopsided.

Hell the craziest thing is, if Mario doesn't whiff on Ronnie Brown, the Texans would have lost.

I don't like the play the almost game...

Here's what we know for sure...

    52% completion
    1:2 TD:INT
    71.4 QB rating

    That is David Carr territory.

I was not impressed with Schaub at all, we won this game despite him, not because of him.

And we lost the Indy game because of Rosenfels. Let's face it, neither one of them is that great.

Everybody with half a brain knows that Matt Schaub is not and never will be Brett Favre.

However, I'm stunned to learn this morning, after being out of town and missing the game, that fans were already clamoring for Sage Rosenfumble.

You gotta be freaking kidding me. Maybe Houson fans just *like* losing.

For those of you pointing to Schaub's interception numbers, I agree. But let's have a look at Rosenfumble's interception numbers, shall we? Lovely.

Clamor for a trade. Scream for Brinks from the practice squad. Scream for a draft. But don't scream for Sage Rosenfumble to come in and hand more of our wins to the opposition a silver freaking platter.

    Freaking ridiculous.

what's your problem? lets look at sage's career numbers compared to schaub. they're better. god forbid we actually want the guy who has played better if only slightly.

it's interesting how people too often fail to equate their own experiences with those of athletes - no one here has ever been sick? not, like, cold-sick; i mean, night in the hospital/lose 7 pounds in a week kind of sick... no? i think we can safely assume the early picks were the after-effects.

schaub will be OK and he's better than sage rosenfels. i wish he'd be healthy enough to play last week. we might be staring down 4-3.

huh? he was nearly flawless in jacksonville two weeks ago and made plays yesterday when it counted, overcoming a rough start.

he's still only made just 17 starts in the NFL.
