As washed up as he is -- McNabb knows this offense. He has been to a "rodeo". This would be the most complete offense he's been given the keys to in a long, long time. He hasn't had a WR like Andre Johnson to throw to since TO. He likes to find the tight end. He knows how to utilize a receiving back. Look, its sad that I'm advocating freaking Donovan McNabb. But... this is where we're at. And it makes sense. But I agree, won't make it past Chicago.
They really need to move the trade deadline so teams like Denver and Minnesota can be compensated for giving up capable QB's. It makes no sense that the Bengals can get 200 first round picks for Carson Palmer yet these other teams receive nothing.
Chicago is the best landing spot but he's been past his freshness date for a while, if the Bears end up having to use him, it won't be good news. Only positive is that he's experienced.
He can't decline a waiver claim. He either goes to the claiming team, retires, or is fined for holding out. I highly doubt he would hold out or retire on his hometown team that he has expressed desires to play for previously.
Cutler is not coming back this year, he said he is most likely out for the season: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/foot...njury-it-could-be-im-done-for-the-season.html
