You can only read so much into today's performance, but Carson Palmer sucked with a good defense and effective running game in Cincinnati the last few years. This Oakland trade will go down as one of the all time dumbest trades.

but their coach said it's one of the All Time greatest trades!

To be serious though, this was one game. 3 INT's is terrible....but it was game 1.

So is this trade officially in 'Ewing Theory' territory? Carson 'retires' from the Bengals and gets traded for a king's ransom to the Raiders (a team looking good for the playoffs) only to miss the playoffs and have his old team make it.

I think it just makes Carson look stupid, because the Bengals were a talented team and he was pouting because he thought he was on a crappy squad.

The Bengals can thank him for pouting because it made them draft a very capable replacement in Andy Dalton in addition to pillaging the Raiders by trade.

They made lemonade out of urine.

Yup. Now, because of that trade, the Bengals are poised to be VERY good for a long time. They are set to take over both the Ravens (old) and the Steelers (older) as division honchos in a very short time.

Agree. upgrade at corner back and running back and they will be true contenders.

a lot of speculation every year about zimmer getting a HC job. gruden who was just hired this past off season is being rumored in the jags search for HC. if we lose either of them who knows what the team might look like in the future.

as others have said, its the bengals. hell i'm a bengals fan and even i have my doubts. then again why wouldn't i? mike brown is a moron

Leon Hall should be back next year (opposite Nate Clements), so that helps. They should cut Pacman.

Definitely need to bolster RB, OL, and DE. Two first rounders really helps - they have #17 and #22 in April.

Nick Perry (DE/OLB) or Courtney Upshaw (DE/OLB) followed by
Cordy Glenn (G), Peter Konz (C), or Lamar Miller (RB)
would be my move, if I were in the war room.
