even tho this might be the best thing we could do, (getting rid of Juwans contract and filling up the spot for a decent PG), I seriously hate it!

I hate Mike James, and I love Juwan for what he is! its going to be a tough season watching a prick playing in Houston Rockets uniform

I don't mind mike, but his contract is pretty expansive and his 32. Juwan's contract is going expire soon. Lets hope mike produces like he did in bad team like Toronto.

Spanoulis is a pick and roll specialist and can create shots for others. You don't honestly expect him to be a 2 guard in the NBA with his weak shot? It takes away his strengths and puts more of an emphasis on his weaknesses. So yeah, if he can't prove to be reliable with the ball as a PG then there is no hope for him to get PT next year.

What a great start to the offseason. We give up a worthless overpaid piece of crap player, for a proven scorer at PG, a guy that can shoot, plays decent defense, shoots 3s and FTs, is clutch and was very important in our playoff game and a veteran. Go thru on Artest or Rashard and this is starting to look damn good.

The Rockets didn't have Juwan Howard down the stretch in 04-05 ... they also didn't have Chuck Hayes (or Shane Battier for that matter). They had Clarence Weatherspoon, Ryan Bowen and Vin Baker with a set of pom poms. I think they will be able to replace Juwan OK and I'm sure they feel confident enough in being able to by making this trade now.

Were you saying that in 05 when he was a huge part us winning 51 games and was a major factor against the Mavs in the playoffs??

You know Derek Fisher is almost a year older than Mike James and his contract expires in 2010 I believe....Anyways, my point is that his contract isn't so bad, and you can't really find players nowadays with decent talent and a good contract. And I know Mike James can contribute more than Fisher.

    The Yettis comment by Yetti,
Mike James and possibly Ron Artest will indeed add spunk to the Rocket's team and will ensure there will be a lot of get up and go and do, about the 07/08 team this upcoming season.
I do however however remember seeing Mike James play every game of his previous Rocket's Career and I need to insist that he is no Playmaker Point Guard, infact he is a slightly sefish Shooting Guard who when motivated can make a very determined personal contribution, in both scoring and temper tantrums.Yetti Yettis.

Haha, with Juwan, it's a 10 inches hole in the front court. Without Juwan, it becomes a 20 inches hole in the front court. Now, u can pray for Chuck Hayes to give you 8 pts 8 rebounds per game and your MLE can find someone with the same production.

Mike Jame's productions is not better than Juwan either. Both of them is about 26 mins 10 pts.

Mike James is also not the solution to PG. He's a undersized combo guard. Probably suits to come off bench for scorings (an old aged Bobby Jackson). Mike James is not young also. Turns 32 at the end of June. But I hope his low mileage will do him some good.

I opposed trading Juwan for James at the February deadline because Juwan was doing a good job and his absence would have meant leaving only Hayes at the 4, but his terrible performance in the playoffs has made me change my mind. I think James can help out with his scoring ability. He may or may not be as good as the first time when he was here but he will be useful to the team.

Weatherspoon! Where's Ryan Bowen now? And Baker, haha. I also wonder where Moochie is.

The reason why I like this trade:

    - Howard was bringing nothing to the table, he was a liability.

    - Mike James can hit the open jumpers, if he's not being guarded he can be deadly. Unlike a lot of player we had last season...

    - Mike James actually has some value, especially if he does well again, last season dropped his stock and he kinda pushed all the wrong buttons in Minni.

I can't see how people think this is a bad trade, i did not think anyone would be silly enought to trade for Howard, his stock is worth less than Yogi Stewart's....and i bet you have no idea who i'm talkin about :p

I have to assume that no one else was offering anything 'better' than JuHo, so - what does that say about:
    mj?
    KMc?
    JuHo?
or is there just Houston - mj destiny?

Why do you, and others, assume Stevie, if (when?) bought out is now precluded from returning to the building he built?
