Pshh...didn't you know? BIQ evaluation a mainstream test offered by MENSA to professional basketball players.

I base my opinion on hmm...tough one...oh right, the fact that it's my opinion. Based on what I saw on the court the past season, Juwan fit into the flow of the game and accepted whatever role he was given. Sure, toward the end of the season and during the playoffs, he couldn't hit a shot to save his life...but he never forced the issue. He took what defenses gave him.

Mike James on the other hand? I think we can all agree that he vastly overrates his own talent, which while greater that that of Howard's is a potential detriment to team chemistry. I'm not saying he's going to be a cancer, but the guy can be a freakin' bonehead on the court sometimes.

This is a solid trade in many fronts:

    1. Howard's contract is in someone else's hands. Sure we take back James' lengthier contract but, on average per year, it's smaller of course.

    2. James brings in another player that can score. I don't mean "Wait for Yao or McGrady to create something and knock down the 3" score. I mean like can create his own shot score.

    3. I see this as a step in solidifying our bench. Adelman can start Rafer as long as I know there's Mike James on our bench. He's like our own version of a very, very, poor Manu Ginobili.

I see him as a decent starter but a much better suited 6th man like Bobby Jackson (like how someone above had mentioned) was for the Kings.

Now this is going to make for some great questions like:

-does this mean Head is expendable?
-will we trade or S&T for a power forward? (Magloire perhaps?)
    -is Rafer expendable now?

It's not quite comparable... in the earlier scenario, you don't get to drop Juwan's contract. Now, you do. That's something like a $15 million difference over 2 years and probably more than makes up for the less than $2 million you pay extra in the trade kicker.

Juwan plays hard, but honestly, no one would sign him to a 2 year $15 million deal right now. So, it makes some sense economically to be willing to pay James the higher price now.

It's possible that Mike James salary increases because of that trade kicker, but if he waives it off his salary would just stay the same. I'm hoping we can convince him somehow to waive it off, therefore we won't deal with the consequences of an increased salary cap.

The trade kicker would raise MJ's salary by whatever % and would be paid by the team trading for him. IIRC...the player has the option of declining the kicker. Hopefully this is the case.

I like this deal. Being saddled with Juwan's 14 mil over 2 seasons was a hindrance that we are now rid of...and MJ isn' making enough to kill us financially

It will be interesting to see what we do with Rafer or VSpan

JL3 must be crying right now

I think we have to pay extra to get MJames traded. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I love this trade, mike james brings that scoring guard element that we need, and that adelman has seen in the past with bobby jackson. Now we need a power forward in the draft, as long as it is not glen davis.

I hope that you also saw that, when Yao came back, Howard was relegated back to the bench just like how he was BEFORE Yao got injured. Howard plays his best ball when he doesn't have to concentrate on rebounding or doing the "dirty work" like Hayes did. But with Yao, we need that kind of player at the 4 spot.

I'm not saying Howard isn't a good player and didn't bring 100% effort every night. I'm just saying that when it's time to pick Yao or Juwan, that decision shouldn't have any pause in thought at all. I'm actually confident that Howard will be more effective in Minny alongside Garnett.

i LOVE this trade. now rafer plays less. now we have another guy who can actually get his own shot.

sure mike james shoots sometimes a lil too much, but seeing our offense, i rather have that happen => not too rely too much on tmac to create everything.

but the bad thing => a HUGER hole than before at PF. we have to get a legit starter when the season starts at PF. hopefully we'll use the draft pick or vspan/novak as bait.

We weren't getting much from Juwan. And we're saving about $9mm regardless. Great move.

this trade is better then signing mike james last offseason, because on this occasion we get to get rid of juwan howard. if we signed him last offseason we would still have juwan howard and be unable to get rid of him.

billy's gona stay. I'm pretty sure with the talk from adelman, he's in his plans.

on the out would probably be head (good trade value) snyder, big body who shows flashes of potential, and bob sura who has value on his expring contract.

move those 3 guys for a SOLID pf, and i think we could get the offseason into the right place.

and if we somehow lure artest/rashard, you can count on battier being moved too. kinda sad how we're throwing out all our players who won 52 wins.

I think it's a good trade for both teams, but I feel sorry for the players. Our team is gonna get tired of hearing his loud, dumb, obnoxious ass everyday!! Don't be suprised if he gets traded again next off season.

So, I'm guessing the next step involves trading Luther Head for a PF? I mean, Head for Kleiza was the rumored 2nd half of the Juwan for James trade.

So essentially your saying that there is absolutely nothing the orginization can do that you roll your eyes at? Great.

You do realize that both Rudy T and CD are gone now, right? Those are the two that orchastrated the Eddie Griffin trade that almost everyone on this board thought was a good move.

So basically you just hate the organization regardless of who is running it as well.
