It was taken out of context- Morey said the team was a 60 win team when everyone was healthy. We will never know- but it was a 52 win team with Yao out for 30+ games-this is praise for Van Gundy too.

I really thought Van Gundy would be signed for a 3 year extension.

With that hair he's a little more like Chris Tucker.

Excellent trade, this one gets my thumbs up. Nothing against Juwan, but he just isn't fast enough to keep up with the team with the new coach-- the team can't be waiting for half of the frontcourt every time up the court, and we know Yao won't usually be leading the breaks.

Also, Mike James can and will do all of the things that Adelman said he can do-- which will definitely help our backcourt.

So what can we expect from our Nash-stopper, J. Reed   :p

So, are the T-wolves fans pissed that we 2 for 1 on that. They gained a servicable bench forward from us, and we get M. James and Nash-stoppeR..eed.

don't care about foye or whomever the hell they have, but still...they got the short-bus on that deal imo

Reed will be gone-o before seasons start.

    Promise.

He's not a contributor to this team, other than facilitating us getting James.

    I don't know about that.

Morey was interviewed on SportsRadio 610 the afternoon of the press conference. He said the trade was agreed upon in general by both teams a week earlier but the T'Wolves would not add Reed to the deal like the Rockets wanted because he was involved in other trade talks.

When those other talks fell through for the Wolves, they agreed to add him to the James deal.

Plus, Morey was part of the front office in Boston that drafted Reed, so he probably knows him pretty well.

He also said in the aformentioned interview, when asked about Reed's role in the trade and the roster, Morey said he adds a little depth and he just didn't get a chance in Minny to play.

I don't think he gets very much playing time and may just be a body on the IL, but I think he makes the roster for sure.

I really cannot force myself to like this deal and feel very sad for Juwan.
Just now I read a piece of news that the next to be traded will probably be tmac coz he did not like Mike James. Hope it's just rumor. If tmac leaves, the Rockets will achieve nothing in the next few years.

Are you kiddin' me? Tracy wil say" Well I love this city I love this coach I love this team but I hate MJ so I have to change a team." I just cannot realize it. Tracy just has to live with James and James has to do the same. It's basketball and that's not about who I like. Hopefully they'll be a pretty good friends.

Uhh...Call me out if i'm out of line...but I DOUBT DOUBT DOUBT that the front office brought in Mike James with plans to move T-mac right after. That would make it seem like Mike James is a core piece of what we're building around when he's really just what I hope is a part of the t-mac yao core...but again...if Mike James is what we're buidling around, someone fwd me the memo...

If Mike James can play like he did when David Wes. and Sura was around, I'd be happy. I just hope he isn't the egocentric person he became after his 'breakout' season with the Raps.

Mike James can help us win those few games that we would lose otherwise when T-mac is out and keep Rafer Alston in check at the PG position.

Whats funny is that even in his "terrible" season with Minnesota he still played better than Rafer.... And he was SO egocentric he took a whole 0.2 MORE shots than Rafer did this year per 40 minutes.... (scored 1.7 pts more with that 0.2 shot more as well)

    How dare he!

My point is that James is a bit of a headcase but he was misused in Minny.. I really dont think he was that bad....

Perhaps, but my impression after watching him back in the Dallas series in 05 was that he was a solid backup guard. I do like him more then Rafer though - actually, I'm pretty sour on Rafer mostly for his horrid shooting.

Mike James is a back-up in my book, but I'll admit I feel he is an upgrade over Rafer. All in all, we could use another play maker on the team to open up the game for everyone and let tmac play like a 2 a bit more often.

Nothing is sure right now! James might become assets in another trade! I anticipate that there will be a bigger trade in the summer, and James is just a flashing light in Houston!
