Yes Yes YES!!! I'm so glad with this trade. Mike James is a great point guard who is attacjing but can also hit a 3. I remember his game from Toronto where he was amazing. Of course is a great trade for us cause Juwan was really struggling ofensivly and defensivly. I'm so glad

Seems to me like our Rockets kinda rushed into this trade a little bit. I thought they could've waited a little and see if they can get SF3 (Even though I dislike him), Bibbs, or a PF.

So does this mean it's a no go to Lewis and Artest as well? I would be concerned about Vspan's PT if I were one of his fan.

One good note.. hopefully no more JL3 ever again.. ever.

After the Juwan Howard trade, we have got to get another Power Forward. There will be a gaping hole at PF. It only makes sense to use our highest tradeable asset "Battier" to obtain a new Power Forward. This then leaves a gap at Small Forward which can be filled by Artest. We then have to give up draft pick 26, Sura's contract, Vspan, and Kirk Snyder to get Artest. That's the scenario I see being played out.

In the end, Franchise might make it back to Houston if..and its a big if..New York buys him out and he plays for peanuts in Houston.

    James/Alston/JL3 PG
    T-Mac/Wells/Francis/Head SG
Artest/Novak SF (Wells can play guard or SF)
    Yao/Mutumbo/Tsladakis C
    Wilcox??/Hayes PF

This would leave 1 open roster position for Badaine??? Unless we cannot get Francis or Bonzi which would leave then leave 3 open roster positions.

With the Juwan Howard Trade you can rest assured that Battier will be traded and perhaps Luther Head along with him for a Marquis Power Forward.

STILL with the Wilcox for Battier innuendos? Didn't someone ask Rockets management about that scenario only to have them laugh. Wilcox is a marginal rebounder, horrendous shot blocker, has trouble getting his motor running, is not consistent, has no range, and is due a bloated contract. Shane Battier exemplifies everything Wilcox is not.

Every single time I hear Battier 4 Wilcox I am gonna b**** like a baby and reiterate all his shortcomings. His many many many shortcomings. Houston would never make that deal.

not ture. because we can get rid of howard's contract now. i say we win regardless. it's very tough to trade away jho's contract and getting a decent contract back.

I love this trade because Juwan has a horrible contract and James was great for the Rockets in his previous stint.

Most of the season, people had been on and off about Juwan, but most of the time people wanted him traded and when Tmac came back, he was non effective and didn't do anything in the playoffs when he needed to step up.

My question is: Is this a trade Adelman wanted? because it has been rumoured to be going on since Feburary.

Wow! That means we've had dead weight at the PG for 2 years. Oh wait, we have his name is Reefer. I had my druthers about that trade we originally traded MJ to Toronto for Alston unfortunately my instincts were correct.  Two years wasted! Oh well, better late than never I guess ...

Thank you!! I still can't believe how some people here still think that the Battier for Wilcox trade would be beneficial to us since Wilcox is everything that Battier is not.

Back to the topic, I like this trade. We finally got rid of jho's horrible contract and get back the player that played real well with us the last time. He would give us that slashing and scoring that we sorely need. Not to mention his fire and heart. Imo, I think Mike James would be an awesome sixth man. And if we could snatch Francis too if ever he's bought out, and if the Artest trade would materialize, and probably trade Battier for a better 4, (I know. I know, its a pipe dream) then I think imo, the team would go to distance:

    Alston/James/Francis
    McGrady/Wells/Francis
    Artest/Wells/Novak
    ?PF/Hayes
    Yao/Mutombo/Tsakalidis

And excluding our centers, that group up there I think has the ability to run the motion offense that Adelman would play. Oh man, I'm so excited for next season!

This is a good trade. How good will remain to be seen. James isn't exactly coming off a stellar year and his contract is one year longer than Howard's. The rumors of him clashing with Garnett in Minn. are very similar to the rumors of him clashing with TMac here.

It certainly gives us more depth at PG which no one will argue was a need. The question is whether he can return to his form in his first stop in Houston and Toronto. There are some doubts considering his penetrating game play is a style that tends to diminish more and more as a player gets older and the competition gets younger. At any rate even if he plays at the same level as last year he will be better than what we had playing before.

I still wouldn't mind drafting Crittenton or moving up and picking Acie Law even with this trade though.

as long as he maintain the high %, why less shooting? Yao Mac are super star, but don't have to shoot all. Mac is below 40% now.

This caught my eyes. What does it mean? He will need to defer to both TMac and Yao, may not even be a starter -- will he really be happy?

I see James playing back up PG with the current roster, most likely going in when Tmac or Yao goes out. He will be the 2nd scoring option when he is on the court much of the time. Not to say Tmac, Yao and James will never play together at the same time, but MJ tends to dominate the ball and so does TMac. He will hopefully give us a nice lift off the bench though, and may end up finishing alot of games even if he doesn't start. I see it playing out kind of like Kenny Smith/Cassel back in the day with Rafer being Kenny and MJ being Cassel.
