Mike James is 32 but Howard is what, 35,36 years old? We got younger and fills our need at PG. Our pg spot is upgraded in terms of outside shooting, finishing, competitiveness and defense. With just a price tag of JH, it's a good deal. We have pgs and picks to trade, as well as an MLE to spend to upgrade the pf spot. Team building wise we are in a comfortable position with this move, with only the starting pf as the major hole to fill.

Do you honestly think they would make this deal without being confident they could find at least a replacement? Besides, how hard would it be to replace Juwon's production? Again I love Juwon, how hard he played and how much he helped when Yao was out, but he is what he is.

I don't know, i just have a hunch they have something else up their sleeves otherwise they don't make this deal and risk having having a Hayes/Novak combo at the position heading into the season.

Let me get this straight: I am supposed to jump up and down for joy because these bozos now go out and get a guy they NEVER should have traded in the first place? This move reeks of something Dawson would have done or is still doing. While I'm at it, maybe I should also give them credit for being able to put their pants on straight every morning since we're handing out kudos for abject stupidity. This organization is past being a joke - they've almost become irrelevant now. I'm simply breathless with anticipation of seeing what they do about the power forward hole that's been there ever since the Tmac trade (not).

And as far as the "organization" is concerned, I reiterate what I said when Rudy T got the shaft: Nothing, NOTHING here will ever change until there is a complete and thorough housecleaning. That means getting rid of everyone over there and starting over with some basketball people who actually possess some semblance of a brain stem.

TMac, Alston, Head, Snyder, VSpan, Lucas

    + Mike James.

    How will this work?

So they will agree to let VSpan stay in Greek?

We just got a lot better. James can take minutes from alston and gives the rockets more offensive firepower. They will have to address the 4 but a lineup of james-tracy-shane-yao in 4/5 spots in the 4th quarter is quite solid.

For the upteenth time, Shane is a SF and not a viable solution for PF. They tried that last season, remember? It didn't work out. Shane gets his clock cleaned by the better 4's in the conference. No, they'll probably bring Kelvin Cato back to play the 4 since they're on this everything old is new again kick.

I think this is a good trade.....but i wonder if we trade the proposed rumor of V-span, Sura, snyder, 26, for Artest how will the chemistry be then? All of these guys require the ball and Artest holds onto the ball way too much. Alot of ball hogs, did we forget James and Mcgrady getting into it in game 7 Dallas? What do you believe the shot breakdown will be with this lineup? Where does Bonzi fit in?

    McGrady-20 shots per game
    Yao?
    Artest?
    James?
    Head?
    Battier?

What do you think if this goes through? How about picking up Webber & Lindsey Hunter both FA (Cheap?) and good role players. Webber knows sac system backup center and power forward.

This may be a bit off topic from the thread. But prepare to say this name right -- Marco Belinelli

I am okay with this trade actually because it does address a huge need for us at the point. you guys realize though we have a lot of "pgs" on the team no one outside of rafer was worth being a pg. luther has the shot but no ball handling and decision making ability. lucas has the handles but is way too small, continuously looks for his shot first and is a large liability defensively. Sura, yeah lets put sura on that list though he hasnt played a game since 2005. Billy has some potential but I dont want Billy to go through a learning process at the expense of the team. Mike james provides handling, and scoring which was tremendously missing and also defense. He also has that fire and attitude to help give this team an added kick in the nuts.

juwans professionalism and leadership will be missed but as seen in the playoffs, all that does carry you so far but if it doesnt produce results on the court when it matters the most then its all just fluff. He did step it up to his credit when yao was out, he stepped it up big, but Howard when not a major part of an offense tends to not perform well at all. I dont think he ever really meshed in well with Yao.

Now if god is taking pity on us and both the proposed artest and lewis deals goes through then:

    alston/james/Head
    Mcgrady/Bonzi/Head
    Artest/Bonzi/Novak
    Lews/Hayes/Novak
    Yao/Deke/?

thats a lineup I'd go to war with. Factor in signing in a MLE big to backup at the PF and the C then its all gravy baby.

our fast break points just doubled, maybe tripled.

is this a one for one deal, no one else is envolved? If so thats a lot of money for james. well at least he will do something.

james is more expensive, and with a longer contract.

it's a good trade because he's younger than juwon and can create his own shot, which no one else can (outside or mac and yao).

a good PG is much harder to find than a PF. any big guy who can rebound a little will do fine next to yao (see hayes).

BOOOO to James! But...if they're just giving up Juwan its a good trade. I'm no fan of James though.
