thnx for warning, whats wrong with lin's fans? you sound stalinesque with your generalizations... yes every player has off night but we can never know is that rust or the night off but since he hasnt had opportunity to practice his postups ingame for a while (why!%$? are you not afraid to cool the hot player off?) then its fair to blame it on the coach... how do you think harden would attack the basket if he was only allowed to do it twice per game .... his eurostep would soon dissapeared hes long been due for 15-20 postups a game...the fact that he missed a cuople of them last night is on mchale since he stopped giving him touches when he was hot and refused him multiple post touches for a long streak of games now... besides trolling his confidence sm(c)hale helped his matchup by giving him to guard a player hes hardly capable of guarding well and in the same time giving draymond rest on defence making him more effective on offense... applaud mchale...
if harden was allowed to drive to the basket only twice a game during last 2 years he wouldnt be MVP candidate right now... and his ability to drive would diminish drastically...
You're right. Every player in the NBA has off nights except the great Donatas Motiejunas, who misses shots through no fault of his own. I don't know what I was thinking.
This is a ridiculous post. Draymond Green is Chuck Hayes with offence. Chuck Hayes shut down skilled post players all night long. Green does the same. Ragging on DMo (or on McHale) for not getting posted on Green is asinine. What SHOULD have happened is a matchup switch - Josh Smith operating when Green is on, and DMo against the backups (and posting on them).
Yeah, but last night was definitely an off game for him, it happens. As for Smith, he basically seems to make those opportunities, so DMo should just pull a Smith and dribble down the court after a rebound and take crazy shots, haha, it's not like we can get much worse against good teams. That might actually be entertaining! hopefully it gets better, but right now this team has a lot more wrong with it, and I feel it's more than just DMo being able to fix it. Something definitely needs to change over the 2nd half of the season.
definitely got what you're saying, we replaced the LOF's with DOF's, lol. Hopefully Dorsey becomes a better player so the forum can be filled with those posts too.
I think there are a couple of Lithuanians who did -- Normalus comes to mind (I think that's the right username). But even they are more objective than amazingskills is at this point. By LOF-esque, I mean the point where the player can do no wrong, every single shortcoming or poor performance is to be blamed on someone else, and teammates and/or coaching staff are just out to stifle the player's potential because of their own jealousy. It's especially silly in this case, given that last night was just a one-off in a long string of really good games for DMo. BTW, 5 of his 8 FGAs in the Indy game came off of entry passes to the post. So rusty.
D-mo should be traded by dead line, and if he prove himself in the league, we can sighn him back.2 years from now there is no room for him on this team.TJ is McHale favorite, and JS Howard's favorite, so no one is or will be willing to share ball with him, passes he is getting from Beverly are like D- league passes, the only once how share are BeardMan and Ariza that's about it, coach is quite till his favorite is back, he will never accept D-Mo as second or third option on this team it was clear first year of D-Mo as Rocket.
This is all anyone needs to know about amazingskills the poster. Read it and then ignore to protect future sanity.
It's super disheartening Dmo is getting that low of post ups a game, meanwhile Dwight is free to clank 15 hooks a game.
The Indy game should be a good example for Dwight of how he SHOULD play. They ran P&R more than usual, and he ended up with an easy 14 pts on 2 fewer FGAs than DMo. When McHale said Monday that we'd be focusing more on the P&R, I'm guessing he just meant on Monday. :-/
He averages 6 a game, which is still a little low. He is still very soft with the ball around the rim when he's not posting up at times. DMo has been really good, very consistent, last night was a bad game but everyone has those. The problem with DMo is that he cannot get you 15 points without running plays for him. Jones is the only guy that can do that, we are lacking that on this team, a guy who cleans up misses around the rim, especially with Dwight sucking so much.
The problem with going to Jones is that his points are entirely dependent on transition and putbacks, he can't create his own shot and you make the defense a lot worse when you pencil him in as he's the worst defensive 4 on the roster and it's not particularly close. So you'd be trading defense, ball movement, and playmaking for slightly better rebounding essentially.
Hello guys. I've been a follower of this forum for a couple of years now, but only now decided to come on board myself. Of all the topics discussed here the most interesting to me is Dmo since we share nationality. I gotta say that it is great that this forum values Dmo (maybe even too much), although this sense of value only came by recently when TJones got hurt. From my perspective Dmo is a very talented guy who can score 1 on 1, defend and pass the ball, he has great basketball IQ, is not selfish and plays for the win. I am sure there is stuff I've missed but I wanna talk a bit about flaws, since I suppose that's what people are arguing about. I think that his biggest flaw is not being psychologically strong enough. I know he's an outgoing and friendly guy, but it really really matters to him how he and his team is doing because obviously he loves the game and so on. So it feels to me like is having streches of confident shooting and bad shooting whereas his defence and passing is more or less stable. But when he's not confident with this shot, his percentage goes low (lets not remember that 0/11 or 0/13 game in the preseason I think). Of course he has more flaws, but most of them can be corrected with hard work. Maybe except for 3point shooting. Whereas psychological issues must be addressed somehow (we don't have any qualified personel of such in Lithuania working with basketball / national teams) Anyway, that was my two cents. Have a nice day, folks.
