Will he give you fancy steals and blocks? No
He will however be in almost perfect position to play defense most of the time. When a shot goes up, he looks for a man to box out right away.

DoMo plays better PnR defense than Dwight. He's willing to step up and bother the ball handler. Also willing to challenge the pick n' pop man if there's any.

DoMo has been the better 1v1 defender in the post than Dwight. Dwight is the better on the help side defense.

Don't bring up 3 point percentage. You lose all credibility when you do that. He might have been hot from downtown for a couple games, but he's got the worst looking shot any of us have ever seen and you know his % is going to be sub-30 for the season.

Plus, you neglect to mention that Jones defends legit PF's like a woman.

I'm pretty sure that's why he said Jones is a poor man on man defender.

DMO plays some of the best PnR defense on guards that I've seen in the NBA.

I think I said he was poor?

Also, he was over 30% LAST season, and was up from the PREVIOUS season. Please don't pretend NBA players don't improve, all you'll lose any credibility you had left.
His shot isn't smooth, but it isn't MKG's train wreck....

I think DMo is our center of the future once Dwight leaves, and TJo is our PF.

DMO Has a Huge upside..he's still improving. I can only imagine how good he will be next season having another year under his belt. I wouldn't trade him.

As far as Dwight is concerned he's still dealing with his injury:

Most big men usually hit their primes at 26-27 years old. Unless they're generational type of talents like Duncan/Davis. So I think DMo might not reach his prime for another 2 or 3 years.

Yes, Cousins is very good as well.

A great example of what I am talking about is Marcin Gortat.

And he was one of the worst in the league just a season ago guarding PnR. Somehow he turned it complete 180 this season.

Really? you didn't notice the massive roster turnover he undertook after Yao and Tracy?

This doesn't get pointed out enough. That's a big part of why our defense has been great this year.

I could possibly see this happening. But ideally you want a better stretch 4 in our rotation for spacing. Terrance jones needs to re-work his set 3pt shot.

Watched New Orleans play recently? Notice anyone?

Daryl's MO seems to be pretty transparently to keep roster turnover going until he feels the talent level is high enough to win, when Dwight goes, we no longer have the talent level and so....

Ah, Asik yes, the guy that became a redundant piece once we signed Howard.

I don't think we have any extra pieces now, Josh Smith will not be signed next year (more than likely) and as such, I think you keep Dwight, DMo and TJones....you might flip Capella, Johnson, or Canaan - but I think the rest of the core stays.
