So if the draft order was set, do you think that the team with the 5th overall pick would trade it straight up for him? Seems high to me considering that the other guy you would get would be 19.
Your obsession with D-Mo is over the top....but you are right. I think Morey needs to start building the team around the core. Saying that, the core could use another caliber player such as Goran Dragic.
I used to get on DD about his obsession with DMo because I didn't know the pre-scouting stuff about his game on the Lithuanian National team. Now I'm almost convinced that DMo will be a Rocket long after D.Howard departs.
Intresting from VU NBA Player Tracking stats(http://tracking.andone.co/), DMo is fastest 7-footer, with 4.5mph
I would like to see Motiejunas featured even more on offense. He just does so many good things when he gets the ball.
I agree, and didn't Morey say something to that effect in an interview not too long ago? Hopefully he realizes this and not trade him, not even for Dragic. I would love to have Dragic on this team but if the Suns demand Dmo i say f**** them. They can wallow in the 8th and 9th seed for all I care. We can find more playmaking elsewhere. It doesn't have to be an allstar.
What you and DD need to realize is Morey and his crew are stat minded, and by all statistical metrics DMo is beasting right now, he is efficient, has a low usage rate and plays good defense and considering he is a rookie contract it is impossible to replace him unless you are getting a superstar in return. Unless Les Alexander overrules him DMo isnt going anywhere, he is projecting into a star player in just his 3rd year.
DMo is not only important on the offensive end but also defensive end. That kid knows how good he is--he's always smiling. So what he said when he first came here is turning out to be prophetic: Dwight can stop him "only if he can catch me (DMo)"
I feel there will be the temptation to trade D-Mo, for Goran. However, if he continues to improve, DM may end up looking a cheaper PG, and retain D-Mo as well.
I've made an effort to focus more on DMo on offense these past few games. I'm not seeing anything to suggest we should force feed him the ball. He works best hanging around the basket and being active. He should be an opportunistic post player when he has good position, but not just for the sake of posting him up. The same goes for Howard too. Neither should really be first options down the court unless Harden's not around. He may eventually grow into a great post player, perhaps a lesser-Gasol. But right now I'm not seeing it.
The fact that you even needed to make an effort to see whether DMO postup is our most automatic and efficient play tells me that something is wrong with you...or perhaps everything is OK and youre just having fun fooling around and trolling us... You dont pay attention to such things... you can not notice it long time ago and enjoy it...the fact that you didnt noticed it long time ago means that you have internal filters preventing you from seeing it...and you will never be able to see it until those perception defence mechanisms are relaxed or removed...
That's right...just accept D-Mo into your heart. Join the cult. Honestly I don't think much has changed with him other than the hook shots have started going IN and we're getting better at entry passes and positioning (has only taken us about two years). Other than Harden he's honestly the only smart shot creator we have. I don't have a problem with giving him a bit more workload.
Signed Otis Thorpe LOL. I hear ya DD and respect your opinion my man. Actually if Terrence Jones would have stayed healthy and with the 1 year familiarity in the starting lineup the rockets record would probably be much better at the moment. Familiarity is the new normal just go ask the Spurs, but the Spurs already have their core Big 3 and the rockets don't. From all indications by Morey, he's going to move anyone and everyone on the rockets not named Howard and Harden to acquire that 3rd piece. Hell my favorite rockets of all time Robert Horry and Sam Cassel were moved for a 3rd piece.
