That might be useful in the fourth quarter, but I think that for the first three quarters, Harden's and DMo's minutes shouldn't overlap too much. Right now, when both Harden and DMo are benched at the same time, our offense stagnates. This can be fixed by starting Beasley (he can also be used in pick & roll/pop plays), bringing DMo off the bench, and running our 2nd unit halfcourt offense through him.
I see your point but I disagree. I think we're best served playing Harden/Dmo/Dwight together instead of our small-ball lineup with Brewer/Ariza to start and finish most games. And I personally think the bench unit should quickly be re-organized around Beasley when Harden sits. When Harden sits Beasley should be featured. Get the basketball to him in space, let him break down his man and make a play or set him a pick and let him operate just like we do Harden. You can still rotate Harden's and DMo's minutes but we should start and finish with both of them on the floor with Dwight. And Beasley subbing for one of Dwight/DMo if there is a matchup or foul problem.
.... Seriously? Do people really underestimate this back injury and this conditioning it takes to play at the NBA level for significant minutes? DMo is playing his way back into NBA shape after missing significant time. Correct me if I am wrong, but Brewer and Terry haven't missed significant time have they? In fact, DMo (who has missed significantly more time) has more often than not played the same amount of minutes as those two in his second comeback. People seriously are misinformed about DMo and basketball in general if you think you can just plug a player like that in the middle of a playoff push. Agendas...agendas...agendas... everywhere.
Based on what I've seen, I disagree. He's not a willing passer, and you can't continually run your offense through an unwilling passer. In his 3 highest scoring games (30 pts, 18 pts, and 17 pts), he has a combined 0 assists.
It looks like he's already in NBA shape. He's been playing over 20 mpg, and he doesn't look rusty/lost/winded anymore. It's not unreasonable to think that he can contribute 25 quality mpg during the playoffs.
He's still falling quite a bit, just like in his rookie season. He wasn't falling nearly as much during the previous season.
is this a good palce to say this? where is everyone who said he's a terrible rebounder? last 5 games avg 5rpg in 20mpg, alogn with 12ppg. he's no dwight but for a pf he's not bad at all.
I think and hope we would play at least 25 quality minutes but he's still holding his shorts after 4-5 minutes of play catching his breath. He's not quite there yet with his conditioning but he certainly looks better with each game.
I'm sorry, did you never learn how to actually back up an argument? You're saying that the rockets wanting to trade him is proof that he's useless, presumably because you think the front office is infallible. Here's a fact for you. The rockets FO makes stupid moves and is responsible for pissing out one of the most disappointing teams in NBA history. The rockets FO stuck with a moron as head coach far longer than he should have been (who you defended---surprise surprise). The rockets than proceeded to move his subordinate into the HC position. Yes, if you are stupid enough to think that any point the rockets make is fact, then you may be right. Also, stop with your condescension, it makes for great irony hearing you babble stupid left and right, but if you're not actually trolling it makes you worse than unlikeable---just plain crazy.
Christ..... talk about hyperbole.... Are you like 12 years old and only started watching basketball 2 years ago?
The Rockets moved him and the Pistons voided the trade because of back issues that will have occasional flares up and will more than likely cause DMo to miss time over his career. The Rockets wouldn't have moved him if it wasn't DMo's contract year along with a rising cap.
Oh, I understand that. He's never been featured as the primary playmaker. And it may not work. And if it doesn't ..... we haven't lost anything...have we?
Was actually going to comment on that before the thread got derailed by you know what talk. FYI he has been horrible in the past at times but also showed flashes at times. Euroleague is not the NBA but the fact that the guy can lead that league in rebounding tells me he's capable when the mood strikes. Hopefully he keeps it up. The Rockets aren't asking much of him now, but rebounding when Dwight is the aggressor in the paint is crucial to the Rockets success more than you'd think.
