Well, last year when he went out, he was basically day to day with a sore back and then all of a sudden he's out for the season with surgury. I hope Morey has a clue about what he's talking about this time.
Well they did expose him to the option of accepting offers when they did not have to......and you don't say, we will match any offer if you really aren't because now no one is going to believe Morey when he says that. Either way - I think we would be better with a healthy Parsons than we are now.....but that is water under the bridge. DD
You don't screw over your cap for a player like Parsons, unless you feel a core of Parsons, Harden, and Howard can win in the finals. Parsons D was getting worse every year and he was getting fairly injury prone as well.
See, I don't care about the cap, I think you go over it, to win championships. And let's not forget they didn't HAVE to make Parsons a RFA, it was a voluntary move by Morey that backfired. They could have kept him for 900k last year. DD
But with that core? I believe Morey said he would have matched Parsons' deal if we had landed Bosh and we would have had no flexibility. Morey doesn't care about the cap when it involves building a team he believes will compete for the championship. Harden, Parsons, Bosh, and Howard is a group you go all in on in a heart beat, while Harden, Parsons, and Howard isn't getting you there. It was a bold move then didn't pan out.
Morey has to protect his assets. We're not talking about playing with a sprained finger. Something caused that back pain. Unless we're talking about a direct blow to the back that bruised him, it's likely an issue with his movement. You dont fix bad movement by just managing pain. Managing pain just gets him out the imminent danger zone.
We've been over this a hundred times. The deal with Parsons/Fegan was if Parsons delivered Dwight that he would be let out of the option year. That was going to happen, DaDa, because we got Dwight. Secondly, Morey was trying to secure a max deal with Bosh and came within a few minutes of it happening before Riley stepped up with the 5-year max deal that Bosh agreed to. If Morey had gotten Bosh, he would've matched Parsons and as he said, and I agree, we'd have had the best starting 5 in the Association with that bunch. Once Bosh disappeared, Morey knew we weren't good enough with Parsons on that contract and it would keep us from upgrading later. And the truth is, much to most of our chagrin, Morey was right on that.
Actually, according to Cyberx (correct me if I'm wrong) it wasn't. When Dwight signed, Fegan demanded Parsons be let into free agency early so he could be paid quicker. It was part of the Dwight agreement.
It is pretty clear up to this point that Harden cannot co-exist with a traditional point management has to think about getting a player at PF the only spot (next to SF) that can be upgraded
I hope that the Raps fans do not freak out when they sell Valanciunas. Valanciunas is just a better player than Motiejunas and still expendable.
It was actually clutch who reported it..I don't believe he named his source, I guess it could've been Cyber though..
Really? Looks like he is doing ok to me.

Starting new year the right way! How about you? Naujieji metai pradėti teisingai! Hopefully we'll see him on managed minutes when we get back into this Wednesday. Be awesome if we saw him on this 2 games west coast trip.
Look the quotes came straight from the horses mouth the other day. I believe it was Morey himself that said you almost have to protect D-Mo from himself. Just because he's pushing himself (maybe too much coming off back surgery) doesn't mean that he doesn't have risks & concerns about his back getting further injured. What's unbelievable is it seems like the folks here that want to earn their D-Mo #1 fan badge of honor seem to be the most unconcerned with D-Mo's actual health, and try to paint him as an immortal Spartan warrior or something. I want D-Mo to get healthy on the timeframe that his body allows it to the right way, and I definitely want him to STOP trying to take every charge he can all the time. You are 7 feet tall. You can't afford to keep hitting the floor like that even if it costs your team a possession. We need the big Lithuanian here long term. The D-Mo badge wearers shockingly seem to care very little about his long term career hopefully with the Rockets which is shocking. (I'm just taking a shot in the dark here, but would it be crazy to think that maybe its because they want him out there ASAP so the Rockets can trade Jones sooner????... naw... never lol)
