Scola was however a better shooter... yup but he was pretty good for someone that was 27 or 28 that came in as a rookie.

Overrated maybe but I guess they just liked his persona.

I meant to say Dmo is overrated, not Scola. Scola was one of favorite Rockets. He maximized his physical talent and hustles and is smart.

Oh but when it count the most Howard is a beast in the paint. Go check out his playoff's number since you are such a stat wiz.

This is a Superstar driven league and the Rockets will go as far as Harden and Howard takes them. Yes they should post up Dmo more often but you and I both know that's not going to happen often. Dmo's job right now is to play his role and play that part damn good.

I remember back in the day when Dream got hurt, OT was a beast for us in the paint on both ends. But when Dream came back, role players went back to their usual roles. OT went right back to rebounding, doing the dirty work and playing solid help defense. His offense was called upon much. Ever so often he would have a monster game on offense.

The fact that once upon a time Howard was good, or that he'll probably be good again is completely and totally irrelevant in a conversation about how he played tonight.

Also, don't disrespect Olajuwon by comparing him to Dwight Howard, that's just wrong.

Yes we're a very disappointing team right now. JBB will not be the coach next season, he's just a rental and he knows that. Les and Morey will hire an experienced head coach in the off season.

I don't think Morey will be here - that will be Les and the new GM.

And I don't understand throwing away a year of Harden and Howards prime....bring Thibs in now.

That's not a good analogy. When Olajuwon came back, everyone reverted to their previous roles b/c that's what was best for the team. We weren't going to take touches away from Olajuwon and give them to OT.

The situation now is different. DMo is at worst our 2nd best offensive player, and thus far, he's been misused. I think most people would agree that the way DMo is being used is not what's best for the team.

Dude nobody is comparing Dream to Howard. Good freaking lord. SMH I know you can comprehend the just of that example better than that Bobby.

The problem is that the analogy totally fails. Howard isn't anywhere near the caliber of player Dream was. Howard in the post is a disaster more often than not and tonight his defense was pretty much non-existent.

Yep, and that's why he should have the common sense to use DMo properly. He's auditioning for his next coaching job. Don't you think other GM's will notice that JBB is misusing one of the best offensive players on his team?

Howard's not in his prime, not even close. More like "last year or two of being a serviceable big man."

They would have brought Thibs in as soon as they fired McHale.

    Morey isn't going anywhere DD.

I mean, not going to DMo in the post is one thing, but can anyone tell me why Brewer got as many minutes as he did? Why Terry got so few despite being hot from 3? JBB is just a train wreck thus far as a head coach.

If he stays, I will bet there are changes to his role, like they will bring in another basketball guy as President or VP of basketball operations etc...much like Philly is doing.

Morey's philosophy has failed, and I think les will want to move away from it.

I disagree that Morey's philosophy has failed, hell the Falcons just used it to beat the Rockets. What was it? 41 3 point attempts tonight?

As a fan, the only acceptable reason would be that the Rockets are showcasing Brewer with the hopes of trading him.

No it doesn't, the analogy shows how Superstar's are utilized and how they hold presidency over role players.

Dwight demanded more touches and lately he's been getting more touches. Dmo will only get touches under certain circumstances. Those circumstances are: Howard gets hurt or Dmo comes off the bench on fire.

I still don't think that's acceptable, the Rockets need to start winning now or they could be on the outside looking in come playoff time. You can't keep blowing games trying to showcase scrubs like Brewer.

Well ok, then....the difference being they play TEAM ball and go out and get SHOOTERS, you know people that can actually MAKE those shots.

And BTW - Atlanta is no good in the playoffs, they are easily shut down, same as our one dimensional Rockets.

Nope only 3. Shayne Graham went 2 for 3 in his field goal attempts this week.
