Howard is back so we don't have to worry about that as much. And Dmo has the size and skill set to give Howard some rest. He just needs to be a little more aggressive going after the rebounds. I've seen him play Marc Gasol pretty darn well earlier this season. Therefore, he can handle a small amount of time at Center.
Backup Cs in the west: MEM - Koufos GSW - Ezeli SAS - Splitter DAL - Stoudemire? LAC - Hawes OKC - Adams POR - Kaman On the defensive end, I think a DMo/Smith pairing can hold most of the backup front courts in check. I'm mostly concerned about the boards.
Both Donatas and Jones are developing players. They are very important to our success. There respective strengths and shortcomings are known to all of us, and it's ok to point that out, without putting either one of them down. I feel very emotionally attached to both of them. I want them to reach their peak with the Houston Rockets. Only time will tell if that is possible or not. My hope is to see a better Scolandry combination from them. Go Donatas ! Go Terrence! Go Houston Rockets!
One is a better rebounder, is more athletic, and creative on the dribble. The other is a better positional defender and a terrific low post scoring threat. We are VERY lucky to have both and they contrast each other which gives the Rockets a lot of options in matchup situations. Now if we could just get TJo to stay healthy. DD
Emphasis on backups here, fins. And DMo won't be able to hold Ezeli, Splitter, Adams, and Kaman off the glass. They're all too long and strong for him. And we haven't even gotten to the starters. You've got to have a couple legit 5's in the West to win anything. Or at least 1 big time 5 (Dwight) and one adequate backup 5 (DMo) surrounded by a top-notch defensive presence at the 4 (Smith).

Maybe McHale is resting D-Mo for the playoffs? I don't know... I just hope he's really not that hurt!
He did a ton of heavy lifting for us while Dwight was out, now he's getting some rest and getting a chance to get fully healthy for the playoffs because Dwight is back.
