THIS. Pair DMO with an actual rim protector/rebound-vacuum (like Dwight or Capela) and that side of the floor is fine. With DMO back we need to be playing less small-ball. It's fine in short spurts but what you're giving up on the boards is too much to overcome down the stretch.
Without Howard this team would probably be last in rebounding if you did that LOL. They were mauled on the glass last night and out rebounded by 26 boards even with Howard.
and god forbid we get excited about a player that can actually put the ball in the basket...efficiently at that.
I like all of the following pairs: DMo / Howard DMo / Capela Capela / Howard With the 1st two, you get good floor spacing, ball movement, and solid positional defense. With the 3rd, you get elite rebounding and rim protection. We win last night if Capela plays. DMo is playing his way into a max-ish contract. Who cares that he's not an elite rebounder? He is an extremely well rounded player with at least one elite skill (post scoring). Like Harden, DMo forces the defense to account for him. Once they start respecting his jumper more, the entire offense is going to open up.
