Asseco Prokom finished the regular season standing 5th in Group D. Prokom's power forward Donatas Motiejunas had incredible Euroleague's debut. He was the leading rebounder in whole Euroleague, grabbing almost 8 rebounds a game. Not to mention the famous defensive rebound record he made. He also averaged 12,5 points per game. Sadly, that wasn't enough for Rockets to bring him over this season.

Really? I heard D-mo's club played two leagues at the same time.

Good showing by Donatas. btw: he was 2nd to Kirilenko in rebounding until recently when he fell off due to having enough games to qualify.

Anyone else find it sad that 8 rebounds led the whole league?

So does 12.5 ppg in a Euroleague have the same conversion rate as Euros to dollars? If so, that would be exciting.

 Games are 40 minutes, not 48. He did that on 31mpg. Plus, it's a much slower paced game, less scoring. Significantly less possessions and rebound attempts per game. And what Joe Joe said.

    Scoring leader is around 22ppg
    Assist leader is under 6

    Different game.

Completely different game. To get a rebound, Donuts must also avoid the brass knuckle and baseball bat swings that opposing forwards throw at him when each shot goes up.

Dwight Howard would not be among the top 10 rebounds in Euroleague.

I've always wondered about that. Seems like the Euroleague allows more contact than the NBA, but why is it that Europlayers who always come to the NBA end up being soft/flopping/avoiding contact instead of taking it straight to the hole? Guys like Peja, Divac, Bargnani etc. should be overjoyed at the decreased violence, but they end up becoming softer than the average NBA player.

Scoring rate generally decreases by about 25% from Euroleague to the NBA. On a plus side, the rebounding rate generally increases by 18%. I don't think Motiejunas will follow the general conversion rate.

He played on a bad team and most likely will not be used in the same way by the Rockets. I keep hearing about his handles and his three point shooting. When I've seen him, I've seen a good guy in the low post who needs a little more strength. I see a guy that could be great in the pick in roll if he worked at it.

The NBA is a much faster game and more athletic. Plodding euroleague big men never succeed over here, but they can there, because the allow a lot of contact and the game isn't as fast. So the Euro players who make it here can either deal with the speed or are awesome shooters and often tall as well.

No summer league, no real training camp, a jam in his position that will hopefully be cleared by next year, those and him logging minutes as a center piece facing ok competition are the reasons why he wasn't brought over.

Also, isn't he only 20? With the signing of Dalambert there is no rush. This is the most size we've had in the front court since Yao has gone down.
