Nobody is scared to drive against DMo? That might very well be true. It also might be one of the reasons DMo is so succesful in making those shots so inefficient. Because opponents keep attacking him without even realizing that they make horrible percentage against his defense/contesting.

It's actually the opposite. Advanced stats show the real bottom line. As opposed to the old school guys (such as yourself) who mistakenly think in outdated terms. "Oh look, that guy got 5 blocks! He's such a great defender", not even realizing those blocks might not have nearly as big of an impact on opponents' overall shooting efficiency as opposed to their season averages. But this statement of yours basically tells me all I need to know about you. We can end the discussion here, because I doubt I can change your mind. If you were to decide to evolve with the times, you would do it on your own.

I doubt this mean he's playing against the Mavs though.

Why does this keep coming up? Is DMo a great rebounder? No. Is he a bad rebounder? No.

First, we need to throw out the offensive rebounding numbers for him. If he's in the post, then he's likely the guy shooting, scooping or hooking it....thus he's not in position for a rebound. If he's on the perimeter, then he's also not in position for the offensive rebound. DMo IS NOT A GARBAGE MAN like Dwight, Capela or TJones.

So the question is really on the defensive side. Some 2014-2015 stats for consumption:

Defensive Rebounds Chance Percentage - The percentage of defensive rebounds a player recovers compared to the number of defensive rebounding chances
    JSmoove - 56.7%
    DMo - 55.5%
    TJones - 53.4%

Deferred Defensive Rebound Chances - The number of times that a player has a defensive rebound chance, but defers the rebound to a teammate.
    DMo - 1.4
    JSmoove - 1.4
    TJones - 1.3

Adjusted Defensive Rebound Chance Percentage - Percentage of defensive rebounds gathered within 3.5 ft
    JSmoove - 68.6%
    DMo - 68.4%
    TJones - 63.7%

So according to most advanced rebounding stats, DMo is comparable to JSmoove, who most would call a solid rebounder for a PF.

The problem here is the people comparing DMo to Dwight, Capela and other obvious centers. That's not who DMo is.

Don't we already have a open spot without sending K.J. to RGV?

I could be wrong, but I believe both KJ and Dmo have counted against the 15 man roster and will continue to do so. Dmo being injured and KJ being sent to RGV do not change anything as far as the bodies we can have.

There is 1 open roster spot and until someone is signed that one open spot will remain.

I believe the active roster is 12. We have one open roster spot, Dekker is inactive (surgery), and now KJ is down at Rio. That gets us to 11. Adding DMo to the active roster gets us back up to 12.

    1) Lawson
    2) Beverley
    3) Terry
    4) Harden
    5) Thornton
    6) Ariza
    7) Brewer
    8) TJones
    9) Harrell
    10) Dwight
    11) Capela
    12) DMo

Now if the active Roster is being discussed, then I think that is 12. Dmo and Dekker have been out so we've had exactly 12 of 14 healthy players all active.

If Dmo is coming back then Sending KJ to the valley would open up a spot.

    We have 14 players.

We have to have 12 active (unless we have been granted a hardship to just have 11 active for 2 weeks by the league office, which hasn't happened). KJ sent down. Dwight not playing. DMo is going to be active. Will he play? I don't know. But why would you send KJ down when you need 12 active if there is no chance DMo is going to play?

The sent KJ down because the odds are higher that DMo will see minutes tonight than it is that KJ would possibly see minutes.

Yeah, this doesn't make sense unless DMo is being added to the active roster AND he is more likely to get minutes than KJ. Doesn't mean he WILL get minutes.....just that he's more likely to.

Once DMo really gets into the rotation (25+ minutes), I wouldn't be terribly surprised if we see some roster movement.

Per Feigen, the Rockets will use games as workouts for DMo. That sounds a lot like he will play tonight, but in very limited minutes.

F you guys. I managed my excitement so well all these months, now we're counting days till DMo returns, I made peace that it would be around Christmas, now you make it sound like he's playing tonight, getting my hopes up just to be crushed when he doesn't play.

I have hard time understanding today's twitter journalism. Does he mean he came up with DMo playing tonight himself, not based on any real info other than K.J. to Vipers?

I'm pretty sure he came up with DMo playing soon based on JB saying that they planned to use games a workouts for DMo. That caused him to connect a dot that he shouldn't have.
