    FYI, Turkcan is the best rebounder to ever play in Europe. There is no reason to knock him. Scola was never 1/3 as good a rebounder in Europe as Turkcan.

    How many rebounds does it take to win a game?

    Is the score kept by rebounds?

    Games are won by generating more possessions. You can do this by forcing turnovers or outrebounding the other team and having more opportunities to score. You need to reduce the number of points the opponents generate, with something called defense, by ending the opponent's possession with a defensive rebound. If you are unable to secure a rebound the opponent's possession will inevitably end with a score in their favor.

    Perhaps you haven't played basketball before.

    OK let's set the record straight here.

    First of all he did not set the Euroleague record. People keep exaggerating this. It's the most defensive rebounds in a Euroleague since the year 2000.

    Since the year 2000.

    The Euroleague has existed since the year 1958.

    It's not actually a record.

    Secondly, this is only the THIRD season that the United League has even existed.

    Fourth, the Euroleague game was against a team that lost almost all of its rotation players, and was playing second unit/third unit and even YOUTH SQUAD players in the game. He was rebounding against a 19 year old power forward and a 230 pound center the whole game.

    The game in United League was against CEZ, which is a pretty mediocre team in Europe's second tier level (Eurocup), basically like Europe's version of the D-League if you will.

    Motiejunas is really fighting for rebounds, going after them, and really rebounding out of his area and being aggressive on the boards.

    However, the level of exaggeration of the significance of what Motiejunas is doing on this forum is simply ridiculous. This is being so blown out of proportion that it makes the "Rubio is the next Maravich" stuff even seem tame in terms of nonsense hype by comparison.

    This forum seriously needs to a get a grip on reality.

    Gotcha, so if the score is :

    99 to 93, we are counting possesions to see who wins....not rebounds...

    Euroleague = Euroleague

    Are Kobe's 81 points worth less because they were against a terrible Raptors team?

    NBA = NBA

    And we're considering picking up Gasol!? Looks like we already have a 7 footer waiting for a chance in the NBA.

    The best college teams would not stay within 30 points of any half way decent Euroleague team. You need to put down the crack pipe.

    Could Donatas have a better pair of coaches for his game than Pau and McHale?

    He was not playing against a Euroleague team. he was playing against a team that was even using about 3 or so YOUTH SQUAD players - high school players from the local youth club.

    They were missing basically half their 10 man rotation rotation of the team. He was playing against a "Euroleague team" half of its 10 main rotation players actually playing in the game and that was replacing them with high school kids...........

    He was not playing against Euroleague level competition, but more like the worst team of the entire Adriatic League. A team that literally lost half of its rotation before the game and had no time to replace anyone, so they put in high school players from the youth squad to replace them.

    Motiejunas was basically matched up on the boards the whole game against a 230 pound center (who is considered the weakest center in Euroleague) and a 19 year old power forward.

    Thompson, their other power forward spent the whole game on the perimeter so he was not even in position to fight for rebounds.

    It's one thing for this forum to completely distort and manipulate reality about what is happening in Euroleague when it relates to trolling, hyping NBA, bashing Euroleague, hyping up players like Rubio and such.

    But to do it when it related to a future key rotation player of the Rockets is total BS and should not be done here. The discussions about Motiejunas should be actually reality based and not pure nonsense.

    There needs to be some sort of level of fact based reality kept here when we are evaluating Motiejunas.

    Hundreds upon hundreds of NBA players have played in "that league" over the last few decades and not one of them ever came remotely close to averaging 30 rebounds. You are delusional.

    He wasn't knocking him I don't think. He was knocking the r****ded decision of the Rockets to waste a draft pick on him when 1) he never played for the team and 2) Rashard Lewis was weeping softly in the green-room, watching his home town team pass on him 3 times.

    Actually it's nothing like the Eddie Griffen draft. Learn something about basketball before you post troll. We drafted Cutino Mobly and Micheal Dickerson in that draft. Both were very good players. Dickerson was then flipped for Steve Francis the #2 pick in the following draft. So no! Not even remotely close to the Eddie Griffin draft which neted us a big bag of nothing for 3 first round picks, one of which was a lottery pick.
