Not to mention there are several reports that Morey was offering $8m/yr from Day 1 on July 1st The $7m offer from Morey was after that trade deadline thing past and it was reported to have $1m in incentives to get back to the original July 1st offer Clearly DMo screwed himself ,,, probably because he foolishly made it personal like DDs been saying. His demands were just foolish and contradictory like he didn't know what he really wanted other than believing BJ could screw Morey, I guess. He losing that Nets offer is mindboggling stupid to the point you have to believe he let emotions and immaturity get the better of him
Amazing that one of the most pathetic and misguided free agency sagas of all time was for such a thoroughly mediocre player. They need to make documentaries for how silly this all was. Oh wait shoot I forgot. Eye'L C
Jon Leuer and Solomon Hill set a very low bar so 10 million may not be so crazy as long as he gets the playing time.
None of this matters IRL. I doubt any of us would care about what people's opinions about - at least I don't. And if you do, fine by me... DD
Very little reason for the Pelicans to play him much. They can take a look, give him spot minutes, if they like what they see, keep it to themselves and make a lowball offer. Make him ride the pine, check him out in practice, see how he fits for 5-10minutes every now and then. Basically back to his rookie season. I guess that if this happens, he sulks, doesn't try.. Alternatively BJ may be smarter than we think, he may have a guaranteed playing time clause? Minimum mpg quota so he can show what he has got. But if he shows what he did last year, next stop Europe
Shows committment! I was also retired for 4 years after selling one of my companies. I am sure you understand BONGman. DD
Wow. This is a very reasonable, unique, yet simple, explanation --- to say it was the physical and league got involved because all three parties (nets, rox and dmo) wanted to do Dmo a solid and ask league to roll back to nets offer. Although, we still have to ask DMo why he told Joel Blank it was not for medical reasons why he was told to go home before the Saturday game. Maybe he didn't know the real reason yet (being fed vagueness) or maybe he wanted to leak something else, which is his right.
TJ last summer: "Finally, a chance to play without having to fight DMo for minutes." TJ today: "%#@^&%#^@!!"
I can hear the conversation in Camp DMo... "So, BJ, I should sign this one, right?" "No, man, are you crazy?!? That's not how this works, naive young foreigner. We sign for the veteran minimum, then we delay taking their physical until they finally decide they don't want us after all. Then you can sign with another team for $14M a year like Basketballholic says. Don't forget: We have rights!"
