    Obama and belatedly Bush through his appointees handled a pretty serious crisis and prevented serious structural and systemic changes. Fixating on short-term self interest like incremental market rallies, tax cuts to the detriment of the budget and eventually other sectors of the population, and whatever nutty childishness Trump will inflict on trade policy for Homecoming Court votes lead to all kinds of economic issues down the road.
