how in the world is he as bad as hitler, a person who is responsible for the deaths of 6 million jews and starting the deadliest war in human history? imo, the only modern equivalents would be stalin and mao. trump is the biggest threat our democracy has faced since the civil war, but i would argue GWB was actually worse. he lied our country into a war that resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths. again, trump is a treasonous, lying piece of crap, but he didnt get as many innocent people killed as bush did. i guess if his next insurrection is successful then i would have to re-evaluate if he was worse than bush.
I don't know if Trump is "as bad as Hitler" but your analysis is reductive also. The amount of deaths people like Hitler or Stalin or Mao are responsible for is not determined by their individual depravity. A significant aspect has to do with the conditions on the ground in terms of culture, class warfare, ethnic tribal grudges etc. And that's another thing we need to understand. There is a lot of over the top history of Hitler's personal life such as claims that he liked getting shitted on by his female partners for sexual stimulation. These over the top non verifiable "anecdotes" of the depravity of Hitler exist so people can feel a sense of "relief" because there is a comfort in believing that all we need to do to prevent fascism and genocide is to make sure Jeffrey Dalmer types don't find themselves running a country. If only it were that simple. But the reality is much scarier. The reality is that a mass movement of tribalism held by thousands of people, many of whom would be considered decent humans in every aspect of their lives expect the aspect on their views of "the other" can coalesce together and form these mass murder ideologies.
