99% of why people refuse to admit when their side is objectively wrong is pride. This is ****ing unprecedented in modern presidential history.
I have a question , what if people in this country do not believe in free press? Should we still have it?
Yes. Definitively yes. A public poll might say otherwise at a given point in time but the consequences of changing that are immeasurable.
This is how an intelligent indivudal handles biased news organizations Calm, cool and collective with a coherent message.
Yes. that and just the general mindset that we have to cheer for our 'team' no matter what. I mean, I get it when we are mad that a flop isn't called on the Jazz but then look the other way when the Rockets get away with one. I really do (guilty as charged). But that can be far more dangerous in other places. We are at the point where an attempt to tamper in our election (and russia of all places), hide our country behind walls, let the modern day equivalent of white supremacy gain influence and kill our freedom of the press are either hand waved away or supported. Some things I never in my life thought I'd see, no matter the 'side'. What has been cultivated over the last couple of decades in politics rather horrifying in its efficiency. free press is an aspect of a democratic system. i mean, you can look at places where they don't have free press....state run media/propaganda outlets, journalists jailed or executed for trying to uncover the truth, etc. If you're asking if that's what the people want, well, at one time I would have said no.....I'm not so sure any more I guess.
The laws/constitution are set up by people, if enough people want it changed, it will. Looks like plenty of people in this country do not value the political traditions of this country. Is this how Rome fell?
What a hilarious cartoon of Trump torching the press. Hahahahaha! It would be even funnier if he just put them in jail. I'd like to see that cartoon too. Hahahahaha! Very proud moment for our country, that press conference. All hail the tangerine tyrant! Our strongmen have MORE HAIR!
The person you are talking about was a political opinion contributor to CNN and lost her job over it. Should Obama have frozen out Fox News when multiple members of their staff that were political contributors were actively campaigning for his opponents or went to work for his opponents? When on air personalities, not contributors, were actively attacking him and working for his opponents? Trump doesn't like what CNN reports he refuses to speak to them. Fox actively works to get rid of Obama (and doesn't hide it) and defeat Hilary Clinton and they should get access?
CNN no longer only reports the news, they try and create news. What's interesting to me is that without Trump their network might already be dead. Trump has rescued that burning carcass that was CNN although they are still last among cable news even today. There are youtube "news" vloggers that get 10x the views that CNN gets LOL.
CNN tries not only to create news, but will angle it in the most sensationalist way possible to drive up views and come up with click bait. They are not shy about giving time to Kanye and Kim Kardashian and will treat those stories as if they are as important as actual news.
Are you being purposeful obtuse here? In order for a reporter to keep on interrupting the president to answer his question the reporter would have to be first placed in a position to have his questions flat out ignored. You seriously can't be this stupid. So I'll ask again. When did Obama ever refuse to answer aFox News journalist in a presser because that HAPPENED FIRST in the Trump presser and THEN the reporter UNDERSTANDABLY kept on trying to make him answer because what he did was unprecedented. Stop treating this like a sports competition.
Typical entitled logic. Let's see how well this yelling at trump works going forward. CNN doesn't deserve to be in the room. PM if you would like to say the bolded to my face over a beer or something.
Did you seriously try to start a dick swinging contest? I don't need to PM you. If you want to waste your time come up to Massachusetts and I'll call you stupid to your face. No problem. Anyways, I love the term 'elitist logic'? Does that essentially mean that you have no coherent rebuttal and want to start a bar fight? Why yes that exactly what it means. Hey if my logic is 'elisitst' and I assume that's with a negative connotation, then you should be capable of dismantling it right? So please show me a time when Obama put a Fox News journalist in a spot where they would have to speak over the president because they refused to answer a question?
I didn't use that term but whatever. It's all good man. I disagree with the journalist yelling like that. We don't have to argue about anymore.
On the one hand, there is no need for leftists to be snide, snotty, and smug. It's counterproductive, masturbatory, and isolating to no appreciable benefit. On the other hand, sometimes I fear logic itself is being seen more and more as a tool of elites. If we have infinite bits of information, and logic is supposed to chart a path through that sea of info, then people begin to see any path through the info as legit, as a form of logic, equal to any other path. And who can blame them. I don't think humans were built for so much info.
Maybe the journalist wouldn't have to speak over the president elect if the president elect didn't do something unprecedented and completely ignore the questions of a major news outlet. It shows how petty and vindictive the man is. Obama has been labeled a Kenyan Muslim terrorists sympathizer by members of Fox News. They questioned whether a fist bump between Obama and his wife was a 'terrorist bump'. Yet the man has allowed Fox News to attend every ****ing presser and allowed them to questions and he never denied them. So your irk is misplaced. People forget that the POTUS serves the people. Not the other way around.
