Why do you think this is?

I cannot see any upside to pushing it except for financial reasons.

Why keeping pushing it when it's not even a cure or preventative?

The President has little to lose at this point. He is knee deep in. As for Republicans and extreme media? They are supporting the President.

I think the thing is to me. . . Trump money is usually back room deals and under the table.
These numbers are their to LOOK Insiginificant but imo if you follow the money long enough . . .
you will find a pay out in straight money or other influence

    Then there is this:

Trump removes watchdog at head of committee overseeing coronavirus relief funds
The move comes as Trump’s critics take aim at a wave of presidential actions and comments that stand to re-shape the ranks of independent federal watchdogs.

CONGRESS: We won't release the funds without oversight and a watchdog
    TRUMP: I AGEE!!!

TRUMP: It has passed. . . now fire the Watchdog!!!

This guy has never made a deal where he expected to honor it.
He always looking for a loophole and a way to break the deal
He is Saul GoodMan except a very BadMan

There is an old scam to those guys who do "first game free" betting lines. You tell half the people one team will win. You tell the other half the other team will win. Next week you get 50% of people to call back and pay because you are the "genius who called it".

1% dies with no treatment. 99% gets better with no treatment. The 1% won't be voting in 2020 either way. If you can convince the 99% who would have gotten better regardless, that it was your "miracle cure" that saved them and they'd have died otherwise...

Winning the election is the King of his financial interests. So, simple messaging to his base is paramount importance,,,always.

I’m with @AB on his Rona messaging. It’s more about the election ... not his financial interests. And it’s a great analogy to say The Wall is about being tough on immigration...and The Cure is about deflecting from failures and coming off as Mr Hope

If he want to play the markets, there are better ways. Until there is clear evidence otherwise, this doesn’t sound logical and I’m assuming it didn’t play a part of his weird attachment to the drug ... The other theories make more sense.

Do the math - he owns literally like $400 worth of the stock, if you look through a mutual fund. $400. Do you think he is driving public policy decisions hoping to double his $400? This is perhaps the most absurdly idiotic accusation since Russia Russia Russia, which also flopped.

The people posting in support of this thread are not intelligent, like I am.

Nice rational breakdown that is likely 100% accurate but unfortunately your clear and concise take will be wasted here. Only Trump paranoia takes allowed.

This is a very old very well understood drug. It may or may not work for Covid, but it isn't a dangerous drug if taken in the right doses.

I understand the premise but its not like this stuff would be over the counter or its being pushed as a vaccine of some sort.

Actually the more I think it makes no sense at all even monetary.

The only thing I can think of is if death tolls get really high he can maybe say this would have been preventative but only a small amount of the electorate would believe that and he already has those votes.

I don't know what it is but somebody is trying to gain from this.

Could be, but like I have said he can be trying to do both.

Nothing like the bully pulpit to push a product.
