TJ what you said about making people angry towards blacks maybe true .But it should be everymans moral job to defend the women of there race if they feel they have been disrespected. What Imus said by calling this ladies Ho's was wrong should he have been fire  maybe maybe not.

Like I said...then all Italians should boycott the Sopranos for the way the demean and abuse Italian women on the show.

I just don't get why people don't understand that there was a context in the comment and the man didn't say it to be hateful. He says things like that all the time and because Al and Jesse say they are going to boycott unless he gets fired, he is gone?

Wow. Better watch out! Better not joke! Better not speak I am telling you why...Al and Jesse are boycotting tonight.

    Enough to get fired, huh?

Let the slippery slope slide, baby.

He has never met most of the people he cracks on! He cracks on his friends. His closest friends. Himself.

Out of line? Yea. You right. But the straw that broke the camels back? Pretty heavy straw if you ask me.

You won't be seeing any other actions despite all this. The lynching was done. You won't hear anymore about race from the "leaders".

I'm fine with him being fired. I could see that coming. You can't make comments like this...particularly not in that sort of forum. What he said was, at the very least, regrettable.

I'm most disappointed with Sharpton, however...and how he handled it. He said he couldn't be in the same room with the man. When asked, "what about forgiveness?" he said, "This isn't about forgiveness, it's about accountability."

Thanks, pastor. Like you've never needed forgiveness before.

Don't know. Isn't he still on the show?

And the NY Times columnist who said that Crimemobs album was the best thing since sliced bread.. the album contains about 100 instances of derogatory language towards black women should be fired also, right?

Pretty smart, though. He got about 3-4 more good years now that he got his name out there again.

The Radio stations in Houston polled their audience for like two days and the people overwhelming voted to boycott them. It wasn't a "vocal minority" it was a majority of those who chose to give an opinion.

if that was truly the case, Sharpton and Jackson should be leading massive protests everyday against the Rap industry.

You can't get the support of the black community by attacking rappers. It's a tragic reality. If a black man comes out against black people he is a traitor to his race. The only way people like Sharpton and Jackson can maintain their careers is to constantly make the fight about black versus white. Bill Cosby got lambasted for telling black high school graduates they were destroying themselves.

    Wow.

    Great article.

You know what I was thinking about? Maybe its the evil in me. I was thinking about having one of the Rutgers women go on a talk show. Interview her and ask her how she feels about the situation.

Then, ask her to show you her IPOD.

Something I think still needs to be kept in mind about this situation is that Imus isn't being censored in the sense that the no longer has free speech but he CBS is exercising their right as employer to practice their business as they see fit. CBS is a media company and words and images are its products. If they feel that their business interest is threatened by the words of one of their employees then they are right to fire him as any other business would regarding an employee that is harming their bottom line.

Very good point and something that has often seems missing in modern culture is forgiveness.
