Yeap. But I think he stayed away from mentioning Dominion after leaving office. Probably wise given how poor he is.

At the very least he tweeted about Dominion systems deleting votes.

Dominion lawyers are smart. If this is ultimately tried before a jury, you don’t want Trump in this case, either as a defendant, or thematically. Think about how rampant tribalism is. That would absolutely come into play in a jury trial. I don’t recall if a defamation suit in fed court gets a jury trial, but I believe if either side requests a jury, they’ll get one. My guess is that defendants would want a jury trial whereas dominion would prefer to try the case to the bench.

Trump Campaign Knew Lawyers' Dominion Claims Were Baseless, Memo Shows - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

Two weeks after the 2020 election, a team of lawyers closely allied with Donald J. Trump held a widely watched news conference at the Republican Party’s headquarters in Washington. At the event, they laid out a bizarre conspiracy theory claiming that a voting machine company had worked with an election software firm, the financier George Soros and Venezuela to steal the presidential contest from Mr. Trump.

But there was a problem for the Trump team, according to court documents released on Monday evening.

By the time the news conference occurred on Nov. 19, Mr. Trump’s campaign had already prepared an internal memo on many of the outlandish claims about the company, Dominion Voting Systems, and the separate software company, Smartmatic. The memo had determined that those allegations were untrue.

The court papers, which were initially filed late last week as a motion in a defamation lawsuit brought against the campaign and others by a former Dominion employee, Eric Coomer, contain evidence that officials in the Trump campaign were aware early on that many of the claims against the companies were baseless.

    Fox: we lie for entertainment

    Judge:

Fox possessed countervailing evidence of election fraud from the Department of Justice, election experts, and Dominion at the time it had been making its statements,” the judge wrote. “The fact that, despite this evidence, Fox continued to publish its allegations against Dominion, suggests Fox knew the allegations were probably false.”

“Although Fox classifies its reporters’ remarks as ‘commentary’ that used ‘loose and hyperbolic rhetoric’ for entertainment value, even loose and hyperbolic language can be actionable if it rests on false statements of fact undisclosed to viewers,”

This is a really good case to follow regarding 1st amendment limitations as it relates to defamation. Are these companies state actors? Fox has the right to lie without liability in its commentary shows (Tucker Carlson), but does that hold the same for its news segments? Sidney Powell's defense is that it's all a show for fun. Giuliani had a technical defense about the monetary claim. Lindell's legal team is all aboard the "he's crazy, so it can't be defamation" defense. I actually like Lindell's chances the best to walk away without settling or paying a dime.

Legal filing in the Dominion voting System defamation lawsuit against Fox News provides communications showing what Fox News talking heads knew and what untruth they spread to their viewers.

Misinformation and untruth have done real harm to reality. As of Sept 2022, 61% of Republicans still believe Biden didn't win the 2020 election legitimately.

    full.pdf (nyt.com)

"Sidney Powell is lying" (Tucker Carlson to his producer)

"Sidney Powell is a bit nuts. Sorry but she is." (Laura Ingraham to Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity)

“71 million voters will never accept Biden. This process is to destroy his presidency before it even starts; IF it even starts…. We either close on Trumps [sic] victory or delegitimize Biden…. THE PLAN.” (Steve Bannon to Maria Bartiromo)

"It's dangerously insane these conspiracy theories" (Fox reporter Lucas Tomlinson to Bret Baier)

"The whole theory is absolutely ludicrous to anyone who bothers researching elections for more than five minutes or speaking with any elections professional" (Stephen Richer, Republican Counter Recorder in Arizona)

"Incorrect" and "not evidence of widespread fraud" (Fox's internal factcheck regarding Dominion allegations)

"That whole narrative that Sidney was pushing. I did not believe it for one second" (Hannity)

"No reasonable person would have thought that" (Fox Politics editor Chris Stirewalt on allegation that Dominion rigged the election was true)

the newly introduced text messages between Fox anchors and executives also reveal this.

Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity discussed wanting a Fox News reporter fired after she pushed back on Trump's election lies

Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich had fact-checked a Trump tweet that mentioned Dominion and previous Fox News coverage on the voting machines. Heinrich "accurately fact-checked the tweet," pointing out that top election officials had said there was no evidence of any voting systems deleting, losing, or changing votes in the election.
Carlson and Hannity apparently did not take kindly to her public rejection of Trump's messaging.

"Please get her fired. Seriously...What the ****?" Carlson wrote in a text to his colleagues, according to the filing. "I'm actually shocked...It needs to stop immediately, like tonight. It's measurably hurting the company. The stock price is down. Not a joke."

Very Valid defense. I'm now on team Fox. I mean if we can't see what this person does who can time travel in a semi-conscous state, we should all be thanking her for enlightening us.
