Honorary black ey? I think I get it now. Incognito was trying to offend Martin by using the "half" part, not the N-word, the N-word was complimentary. The "half" comment alludes to being white, and was meant in a derogatory way. Like, "damn bro, you're only half black, not 100% black like me (me=incognito)" So I guess Incognito is racist against whites. So all is good. It's okay to be racist against generic, non-homosexual, non-disabled, perfectly average whites.
From that article: Read more here: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolp...considered-black-in-dolphins-locker-room.html I guess the hood mentality is strong in their locker room.
My guess it had more to do with him getting bullied for over a year than it did with his background. There are plenty of smart guys from "good homes" and schools in the league. After seeing him display traits that they would consider weak, ie not standing up for yourself, then they probably assumed it was because of his background. Is it surprising that guys in a sport where you are a tackling dummy would have that type of mentality?

Not surprised that players are not defending Martin....... the culture and mentality in professional sports (especially football) is different than the general society.
**** the Dolphins. Defending this scumbag piece of **** (nice way to put it). Joke of a top-10 draft pick QB (I'd trade him for Case Keenum, I'm sure you guys wouldn't do that trade). Joke of a 'number-1 (LMFAO) wide receiver' with a HUGE contract. Joke of a head coach. Hired by the biggest joke of them all, the general manager. The owner can go eat a dick too. I refuse to further support this joke of an organization until sweeping changes are made.

I would say that I've been at this point for a minute to where I do not mind watching a football game for excitement, but watching and supporting these athletes on a personal level is and always has been near IMPOSSIBLE. I almost happy at this point to see Miami getting their butts kicked of the field for this madness. It's like people keep blaming the victim, regardless ... I'm going to be honest Martin would've been demonized by locker-room and others for doing the exact thing that they are saying that he didn't do... stand up for himself and beat up/injured Incognito who has shown himself to be reckless, violent, and unstable a-hole.
Meh not sure he would have been demonized if he would have stood up for himself and fought Incognito. Although they picked him because he doesn't stand up for himself and is soft. There is no room in the NFL for the meek or soft and it isn't just a lot of players that feel that way, the coaches do as well.
Yeah, Mark Schlereth said earlier today "You know what's worse than being a racist in an NFL locker room? Being soft."
It is also a sport that sits at a level of popularity and profitability that is virtually unheard of. The players are typically exploited, ground up and spat out and no one seems to care.
I guess Philbin has no choice but to have his players circle the wagons and take a Dolphins vs the world approach. Those quotes seem all over the place, and even worse they're against the Dolphins desire to keep quiet: The coach is pleading ignorance but supports whatever his team does. Accounts that the two were best friends, but the team knew what Incognito was doing, but they're still shocked to hear about it. Incognito's not racist he's a victim.
