    I think there is a good likelihood that this is what Doge is about. It hasn’t happened yet, but I will call it that when it does.

    That said, if the actual dollars cut by Doge are pennies on what they’re claiming, then the scope of transfer by this vehicle is less disastrous and my eyeballs are elsewhere.

    Don’t get me wrong, these people are criminals and crooks. But I also spend less and less time here and in monitoring the nonsense because it pisses me off and I have better things to do with my time. For now, Im the camp of this is what America voted for and I sincerely hope Trumpers feel every bit of what is coming down. Not because I’m an *******, but because that may be the only way this country is redeemed.

    But I think this country has peaked and isn’t coming back. Need no further proof than the stupidity posted on Cf every day by Trumpers.

    ELON's EMAILS TO FEDERAL EMPLOYEES SOWS MORE CONFUSION
    https://www.msn.com/en-us/general/g...lishments-looms/ar-AA1zDV4N?ocid=BingNewsSerp

    The latest round of turmoil began over the weekend, when Trump posted on Truth Social, his social media website, that
    “ELON IS DOING A GREAT JOB, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM GET MORE AGGRESSIVE."

    Musk followed up by saying “all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week.” He claimed that
    "failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.”

    The Office of Personnel Management sent out its own request afterwards.

    “Please reply to this email with approx. 5 bullets of what you accomplished last week and cc your manager," the message said.
    However, it said nothing about the potential for employees to get fired for noncompliance. The deadline was listed as 11:59 p.m. EST on Monday.

    Why would cutting waste, fraud and bloat own the libs? What are you suggesting?

    The ra ra, hoo rah stuff... welll... that's politics. I think they're clever enough to know if they go around debating each item in public things will never get done because they never have gotten done despite everyone knowing there is a massive problem. The lack of historical action on this pressing issue is the precedent. These guys have a ton of flaws but they're ahead of the curve when it comes to the public. Whereas dems implicitly pick people who are well behind under the guise of niceness, only to be controlled by unelected bureaucrats who benefit from this laundering scheme.

    Cut all government contracts to private corporations and replace all those contracts with hiring federal employees to do what those private corporations were asked to do.

    That would have epic savings. When you contract out work to the private sector a team of shareholders and executives are trying to accumulate wealth so they are smoking.billoons of dollars when they receive these contracts.

    Like we can replace corporate executives with 10 million dollar salaries and shares worth millions of dollars with federal employees who are managers getting a 6 figure salary.

    If you want to save the most tax payer money you stop all transfers of of tax payer money to private equity. All of it.

    fed employees don't have that skillset. If they did they would demand those private corp salaries.

    These savings , whatever they end up being, aren't being funneled to blackrock. They go to paying off the deficit and some might go back to Americans earning under $100k. The majority of business aren't publicly traded or private equity, they are small business who try to turn a profit after all expenses and wages are paid. I don't see why you can't view govt as that with taxpayers as the shareholders. Let's first see what is specifically contracted out based on need. We go back to twitter (there are tons of others, but this is easy) , where they didn't go crazy with subcontractors. They just made it clear it's a place for software engineers who can build code, not content moderators who deal in fugazi.

    You can’t be this stupid. The Doge and trump messaging is libs are corrupt, libs created massive government, therefor cutting government is cutting/owning the libs. It is literally the tone and concept of all the messaging. The chainsaw nonsense is pandering to ignoramus Trumpers. You can brush it off as roo rah stuff, just politics. It is idiotic.

    You can blindly trust Trump and Musk if you want - under the guise of calling them clever enough to know not to debate each item in public. You’re the sucker.

    I didn’t elect them, but even if I did, I would want accountability and transparency. Trump and trumpers love to ooh and ah about how Trump is a business man and will run the government like one. Well, voters are the shareholders of the government and we are owed transparency, just like shareholders are entitled to corporate disclosures under SEC and FINRA rules.

    So basically this tells me you think everyone should just trust and believe Trump and musk like you do. In this case, you’re the idiot for giving up your right to transparency. You would rather gloss over the problems with what Trump and Musk are doing, and instead talk about Dems pick nice people or whatever. Dems aren’t in power. Trump and musk are. Your standards for their conduct are embarrassingly low.

    But, coming full circle, and back to my original point, I don’t know that you actually care about whether Doge cut 8MM vs 8B, or whether they’re doing it right. You care about the chainsaws and owning the libs. You might say you’re about the substance, but your unwillingness to have any standards for Trump and Musk and your prior rants suggest otherwise.

    Executives are what we call a "class solidarity" group of humans who mostly don't have technical skillsets but reward each other through ownership of capital.

    The ownership of capital is what created these millions of dollar salaries executives with millions of dollars of added stock options. Not technical skills. Like ask yourself what technical skills Elon Musk has and he's the world's wealthiest man.

    That's like basic info security 101. My company sends us fake email from fake outside companies and we get in trouble if we opem them. Apparently they have an outside company that does nothing but send fake emails to companies. Like that's all they do - fake email testing to prevent phishing.

    ~40 percent of contracts canceled by Musk’s DOGE are expected to produce no savings

    Last week DOGE published an initial list of 1,125 contracts that it terminated in recent weeks across the federal government. Data published on DOGE’s “Wall of Receipts” shows that
    more than one-third of the contract cancellations, 417 in all, are expected to yield no savings.

    That’s usually because the total value of the contracts has already been fully obligated, which means the government has a legal requirement to spend the funds for the goods or services
    it purchased and in many cases has already done so.

    “It’s like confiscating used ammunition after it’s been shot when there’s nothing left in it. It doesn’t accomplish any policy objective,” said Charles Tiefer,
    an expert on government contracting law. “Their terminating so many contracts pointlessly obviously doesn’t accomplish anything for saving money.”

    Dozens of them were for already-paid subscriptions to The Associated Press, Politico and other media services that the Republican administration said it would discontinue.
    Others were for research studies that have been awarded, training that has taken place, software that has been purchased and interns who have come and gone.

    Almost everything DOGE has claimed as fraud or waste was either mischaracterized, grossly exaggerated, or just false. The problem is that trumpers believe every single thing they say no matter how fraudulent or obviously exaggerated the claims may be.
    Here Are The Biggest DOGE Hoaxes And Inaccuracies

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/conormurray/2025/02/19/here-are-the-biggest-doge-hoaxes-and-inaccuracies-as-8-million-canceled-ice-contract-listed-at-8-billion/

    Also, to the OPs point, we can note that every (actual) independent auditor that looks at the numbers say that the real $$ amount of savings so far has been somewhere between $2 Billion and $8 Billion total. Nowhere near the numbers DOGE is claiming.

    DOGE released data about federal contract savings. It doesn't add up

    NPR's analysis found that, of its verifiable work completed so far, DOGE has cut just $2 billion in spending — less than three hundredths of a percent of last fiscal year's federal spending.

    Elon Musk's DOGE Savings Of $55 Billion May Be Overstated — WSJ Analysis Reveals The Likely Actual Figure

    The WSJ analysis of government contract data provided by Deltek, a government contracting expert and data provider, indicates that the actual savings may be much lower, potentially around $2.6 billion over the next year

    ~~~ 3+ months after this announcment,
    Trump 2.0 finally reveals who DOGE acting administrator is, and it is not Elon Musk
    as recent as earlier this moraning, Trump 2.0 press secretary had side-stepped the question as to the identity of the administrator
    “So, the president tasked Elon Musk to oversee the DOGE effort,” press secretary Karoline Leavitt said earlier Tuesday when asked directly who was administering the initiative.
    “There are career officials and there are political appointees who are helping run DOGE on a day-to-day basis.”
    Justice Department attorneys were grilled in a court appearance Monday about who the administrator was, but none were able to say then, either.
    DOGE Secretly Changes Its Website After Being Caught in Huge Lies
    DOGE deleted the top five highest savings claims on its “wall of receipts” leaderboard after various news outlets pointed out multiple errors in its calculations,
    The New York Times’ David Fahrenthold reported Tuesday.
    The savings, deleted with no explanation from DOGE or the White House, include:
    • a $232 million cut to the Social Security Administration that actually amounted to only $560,000;
    • an $8 billion cut at Immigration and Customs Enforcement that was actually only $8 million;
    • and three $655 million cuts at the U.S. Agency for International Development that ended up being a measly $18 million.
    These mistakes all seem to be completely avoidable human errors.
    DOGE had claimed earlier this week that it has saved $65 billion thanks to all of its cuts. Its website still boasts this number, despite the recently deleted claims.
    @strosb4bros did you abandon this thread because the overwhelming evidence is that musk is a lying sack of **** and Doge is all about lying to Trumpers and fabricating effectiveness. Or are you somewhere celebrating the tens of dollars that Musk is taking off the deficit.
    Short term pain for long term gain
    Musk is serving a purpose and Im glad he is the sacrificial lamb
    I am a present father to my kids just like my father was a present dad so I don't look to these billionaires to be morally perfect or inspirational figures
    You need a chainsaw to cut through bureacracy this thick and muddled, like the first foray into the amazon
    a scalpel would not make any headway and give chances for the roots to grow back
    For the glory of AMERICA!
