build a fence around a/c unit.

    dont tie up your puppy.

dont leave your puppy outside by itself. bring him inside and make him part of your pack.

puppies chew stuff...thats what they do. does it have any toys or rawhide bones to chew on? labs are very active dogs and need alot of exercise. daily walks, designated playtime with your dog...if you dont have the time or the inclination for these things then you should give the dog to someone who does.

labs are very smart, very loyal and will do anything to please their owner...they just want to hang with you so its sad that you leave it out in the backyard...bring it inside!

i trained my lab off the techniques in this book and he was the most well behaved dog ever. it will take some time and work on your part, but it is well worth it.

Teach your dog how to fix A/Cs. Problem solved.

You should probably send the puppy to a better home cuz you sound reaally violent.
I mean what can you expect from a teething puppy who's left outside it needs to find SOMETHING to chew on. You should be raining down bones and toys on that little guy

I remember when I got my two Ridgeback puppies back in '98. They were literally eating the bark off of every tree in the backyard. I think if you chew all the bark off the tree around the entire circle of the tree...the tree dies doesn't it? lol

Anyway, I had to put chicken wire around every tree. Then, as they got bigger, I had to put a secondary fence inside the 4' chain link fence because they were always going after the neighbors or cats or whatever...and could easily scale it and hop over. And, the yard was pretty big.

But, when they were small puppies, I quarantined them in the kitchen for a few days while I was at work only to find they were chewing the wooden cabinets up...not to mention playing in their dookie, chewing up the puppy pee pads (after they used them), and generally causing havoc I would equate to a toga party gone crazy.

But, I wised up and got the crates for crate training. That's the best move you can make. I don't think labs make good outdoor dogs personally. But, when pups are real young, you can't just leave them in a crate all day. They need to be let out every few hours or so to do their business...until such time as they build up their bladders. I had to hire a pet sitter to come twice a day. They each had their own large crate to accommodate growth sitting right next to each other. It was literally a party in each crate with all their toys and such to keep them busy. They loved it.

Good times. I remember literally crying at how difficult it was those early days when they were 8 - 12 weeks old after the euphoria of having cute puppies wore off. I even inquired about returning them to the breeder. But, I stuck it out and it got much better after they grew up a little. They will always find something to chew on, however. You need a lot of chew toys and rawhides, etc. .

WTF? Violent? This post makes no sense at all. No where did I exhibit any violence towards my dog.

Should never be given to a dog, especially a puppy. You definitely don't wanna deal with the digestive issues with these (especially with a puppy). When my dogs get hyper I get out the KONG and either put KONG cookies in them or freeze them overnight with peanut butter. The puppy will be interested in it for hours, all eyes and mouth on KONG.

Violence no...maybe some neglect though. I know those little guys have tons of energy but you have to do your best to work it out of him by walks/dog parks/play, etc.

i had a labrador retriever and currently have a golden and i gave/give them rawhide bones all the time...they love them and i have never noticed any issues related to them eating rawhides. i have one of those kong toys too. they are great. or go to the thrift store and buy a bunch of stuffed animals that the puppy can go to town on. give the puppy something else to chew on.

Rawhide is fine so long as it's 100% natural. KONG products are great though, and antlers are probably the best chew toy they can get.

When my pit was a puppy and living indoors, she stayed sleep under the bed one morning so we forgot about her and didn't put her in the kennel. While we were away she chewed a hole in the hose that connects to the toilet in our bedroom bath.

We never forgot about her in the mornings again.

Haha...again. Neglect? I tied the dog up while I mowed an area of my yard for 15 minutes. This is such neglect. I go jogging with him at Memorial Park nearly every day, and he does spend time with my family indoors. He does NOT stay outside all day, but he is fixated on JUST my AC Unit outside. I don't understand it as my backyard is huge, and there are tons of places for him to go.
