I prefer Yao had Shaq's body. Then he'll be probably the most dominant big man ever.

exactly, the bad misses that careens off the rim are the types of rebounds he has most trouble with.

Of course, he doesn't dip his hands in tubs of butter before the game.

    in reality its 2.73
He's consistently undercounted by official scorers.

    you obviously missed the point.

I would take Shaq's hands and his poor shooting ,since it comes with incredible accomplishments.

Embrace the butter. Every Tuesday I have butter chicken.

Jokes aside, I think it really is sad to criticise your franchise player in such a demeaning way.

he did have a Coach that helped him with catching... use to fling tennis balls at his head...

    his name was Tom...

Tom is no longer with the team....

but hey at least Bynum... has some useless hack name Kareem... coaching him...

shows the lakers dont put any weight on player development...

    like the Rox do

Hey, we paid him money, he should play 4 us!

Yao is inefficient sometimes, but when he is on the beach, we often choke in the clutch time, especially when we are not leading big.
Yao is not a great rebounder, but when he is on the court, Scola and Landry can easily grab the board, -ecuz Yao can push the opponents far away from the ball. So Yao is often +30 while the others not.
Yao is very important in our system in both offense and defense. We need him.

That's why RA use him too much.

You wanna trade Yao for Shaq right now? If not, he is the best big man we can have, we have to live with his weakness and at the same time enjoy the strength he brings into our game.

That is fair, isn't it? It is not fair to compare two totally different kind of player without taking into consideration of any other factors, especially using one's merit measure the other's shortcoming....

If you want to express hate, we can start a tread and let you solo in it

Yes, you can't have it all. Can Shaq win the title w/o KB or DW?

Well Shaq has Kobe. Yao don't!! So your analogy is STILL wrong. If Yao has Kobe, who knew what he may become.

some say yao can never catch a lob pass since he has butterfingers sometimes. i saw him catch a few of those in the minny game.

and what is the point of this "serious" thread?

    Pao Gasol?

    =/

    Just kidding.

But seriously, this is a ridiculous argument in a ridiculous thread.

Yeah, I agree he does not have the greatest hands but if everyone was slapping at your hands and arms you would have the worst hands as well. The referee's officiate him horribly and are terrible with big men in general. I'm more concerned with Yao tipping the ball when trying to get a rebound and even Battier and Scola do the same as well.

    HE HAD SIX Blocks today.

HIs season average is 1.8 now in 33 minutes a game

PER 36 Almost 2 a game, not bad for the stiff that you guys make him out to be.

and this could be why yao has problems to grab some rebounds at times, too.

This is absolutely one of the stupidest arguments I have ever read. Having good hands to be able to catch the ball has NO correlation to being a good shooter. There are tons of good shooters in the NBA that don't have the fumblitis problem Yao has.

agreed. the solution is not going away from yao. when you have a problem, you don't try to avoid it or take a detour.

i think they need to continue working on it. tonight is a good start. i see the ice started to thaw a little bit.
