Pippen got further in the playoffs without MJ than vice versa. Kinda hard to say someone rode the other guys jockstrap when the other guy never won one playoff round without him.

Colin Cowherd: "I REALLY am impressed with my own opinions, like hearing myself express them, and being confidently more handsome than the average sports radio guy. Alright? Now lets hear YOU agree with me. You're on The Herd on ESPN..."

Vince was and is a one sided player (offense only) who never truly dominated on that side of the court. By dominating I mean multiple scoring titles, 50+ point games, etc. He has always been a below average passer as well, coupled with shaky midrange shooting. So what does that leave? A large volume 3 point shooter, dunk-a-holic, shaky passing, no defense player.

if Vince were better rounded even just offensively, I might make the argument for him. T Mac will be afforded that argument, as he had superior court vision. But Vince was never accused of making his teammates better players. He was just a highlight reel that never ever tried on defense...EVER.

I would even go so far as to call his offense overrated as he never put consistent pressure on opposing teams bigs insofar as foul trouble. As talented as he was, he would often go around guys to dunk, rather than drawing the contact, racking up fouls on the opposition, and finishing strong...Weis notwithstanding. He is the Bill Gates (purchased a respectable 3) version of Kenny "Sky" Walker. If he had the doggedness of a D Wade, who looks to draw contact on his way to the rim, he would have been an undeniable offensive force and probably a champion. As is, he's just the posterboy of what is wrong with offensive wanna be juggernauts in basketball.

...and I was a fan of his at UNC...

VC's defining moment, for better or worse, will always be the missed basket against Philly that could have won game 7 and take Toronto to the championship. I believe that was the infamous 'UNC Graduation' attendance game, where he got a lot of flak for attending the UNC graduation the day before the game.

I'd personally put him in based on the entire body of work he's put together during his time in the league, but wouldnt be upset if he didnt get in.
